Rayburn Class Induction 1979 Sport(s) ‘Stumpy’ Rayburn was a member of Murray State’s 1933 football team also known as the ‘Wonder Team’. It was the only team in school history to finish a season undefeated and untied. The Wonder Team dominated opponents out scoring them 255-25. The 1933 team won all nine games in on their schedule and went on to win the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship. Rayburn graduated from MSU in 1935. He served as the Murray State Alumni Association president for two years (1961-62).
