MOREHEAD, Ky. - Seventh-seeded SIUE defeated No. 6 Eastern Kentucky in four sets (25-23, 23-25, 25-21, 25-18) to advance to the finals of the 2013 OVC Volleyball Championship. The Cougars will face the winner of the Morehead State/Austin Peay match. SIU because the first seventh seed since at least 1998 to play for the tournament title.

Four Cougars hit double-digits in kills with Kelsey Augustine leading the way with 17. Kristen Torre had 14 digs while Cori Harris added 12 kills to go with 11 digs. Taylor Held registered 10 kills in the victory. Mallory Mangun dished out a match-high 53 assists while ranking second on the team with 16 digs. Chelsea Colclasure paced the Cougars with 22 digs in the match.

Eastern Kentucky's Ashley Edmond recorded her second staight double-double in the tournmanet with a match-high 19 kills and 13 digs. Alexis Plagens added 10 kills while Abbey Cvelbar registered 41 assists. Dena Ott led all players with 23 digs while Mallori Moffat chipped in 10.

The Colonels finished the season with an 18-16 overall mark while going 9-7 in the league action.

Top-seeded Morehead State came back from two sets down to defeat No. 5 Austin Peay in five sets (20-25, 23-25, 25-19, 25-21, 15-4) to advance to the finals of the 2013 OVC Volleyball Championship. The Eagles will play No. 7 SIUE.

Morehead State's Ayrn Bohannon tallied a team-high 17 kills to go with 13 digs. Alex Fitzmorris added 10 kills in the win. Leslie Schellhaas paced the defense with a match-high 20 digs while Courtney Smith chipped in 16 digs. Bailey Nichol dished out a match-best 45 assists.

Lauren Henderson led the Lady Govs with 18 kills while Jada Stotts had 11 kills. Cami Fields recorded a double-double with 25 assists and 14 digs while Syd Litchfield registered a team-high 19 digs .

Austin Peay finished the season with a 13-22 overall mark while going 9-7 in the OVC.
