Austin Peay State University closer Tyler Rogers has been named a second-team Rawlings All-America selection by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). In addition to Rogers, three other players were named to the Rawlings All-South Region Teams.

The three other selections to the All-Region team were Austin Peay junior first baseman Craig Massoni, Austin Peay infielder Jordan Hankins and Eastern Kentucky catcher Sean Hagen. Rogers was a first-team All-Region selection while the other three selections were second-team picks.

It marks the third All-American honor of the season for Rogers who was named a second-team selection by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and who was a third-team pick on the Louisville Slugger team by Collegiate Baseball last week.

He is the first Governors player to receive three different All-America honors in the same season.

A 10th-round selection by the San Francisco Giants in Major League Baseball's First-Year Player Draft, Rogers led Division I with 23 saves – tying the NCAA single-season record (which has since been tied by UCLA's David Berg). He also posted a 7-2 record and finished the campaign with a 1.63 ERA in 49.2 innings of work (41 appearances). Rogers truck out 41 batters and held opponents to a .169 batting average.

Rogers was named the Ohio Valley Conference's Pitcher of the Year, the first pitcher who was solely a reliever to earn the league's top pitching honor. He helped Austin Peay to its third-straight OVC Tournament Championship and second-straight NCAA Regional Final berth.

Massoni was named the OVC’s Player of the Year, the first Govs player to earn that honor since 1996. He finished the season just three RBI shy of claiming the OVC’s Triple Crown – leading the league in batting average (.385) and home runs (16) while ranking second in RBI (68). Massoni ranks among Division I’s Top 10 in home runs (9th) and RBI (9th).

Hankins, who has twice been named to an All-America team this postseason, was a Second-Team All-South Region selection at third base behind Mercer’s Chesny Young. A 2012 and 2013 first-team All-OVC selection, Hankins played both second and third base in his junior campaign. He played 44 games at second base and 18 at third, including the season’s final 14 games, and posted a .352 batting average with 11 home runs and 54 RBI.

Hagen improved his batting average 101 points this season, going from .252 as a sophomore to .353 his junior season.  He also improved his slugging percentage 130 points (.480) and his on-base percentage (.401) by 62 points. Hagen doubled his previous career best for hits, drove in 22 more runs and scored nine more times.  In his first two seasons combined, Hagen had a total of one home run and 10 doubles.  He had four homers and 14 doubles in 2013.  Hagen ranks fifth in the OVC in hitting and sports the highest average of any league catcher.
