Jacksonville State won its third straight smallbore crown on the first day of the 2014 OVC Rifle Championship on Saturday.
The Gamecocks shot a 2299 to take first place while Murray State came in second with a score of 2295. The UT Martin mixed squad came in third with a mark of 2276 followed by Columbus State (2261), Morehead State (2234) and the UT Martin women (2225).
Murray State sophomore Tessa Howald took the invidual crown with a score of 582.
The OVC Rifle Championship concludes tomorrow with the air rifle at 10 a.m. CT
