Murray State won its 12th overall smallbore title and first since 2011 on the first day of the 2016 Ohio Valley Conference Rifle Championship.
The Racers shot 2342 to take first place while Jacksonville State finished second with a 2325. Morehead State placed third with a mark of 2281 followed by the UT Martin mixed team (2263) and the UT Martin women's team (2237)
Murray State's Barbara Schlapfer and Ivan Roe each scored a 587 to take the individual crown.
The OVC Rifle Championsip continues tomorrow with the first air rifle relay at 9:45 a.m. CT
