Emmi Carroll, F, 5-9, Sr., Cincinnati, Ohio - Eastern Kentucky
Carroll scored a pair of goals as Eastern Kentucky recorded a pair of wins and a draw last week. In the win over East Tennessee State, she scored an insurance goal in the 87th minute. She found the back of the net again in the victory over Morehead State just nine minutes into the game to give the Colonels the early lead. She led all players with five shots, three of which were on goal, in the draw against Austin Peay. She now has 15 career goals which is third most in EKU history.

Kemper came forward and scored the equalizer in the 67th minute in the draw against Austin Peay. She never left the field last week as she helped Eastern Kentucky record two wins and a draw.

Myers recorded a pair of shutouts last week to help UT Martin open up OVC play 2-0. She made five saves in each match. It marked the first two shutouts of the season for Myers.

AUSTIN PEAY (5-3-1 overall, 0-1-1 OVC): Austin Peay played to a draw with Eastern Kentucky and fell to Belmont to open up OVC play last week. Three different Govs scored goals last week. Kristen Robertson scored her seventh goal of the season in the draw with EKU. Pamela Penazola and Clarie Larose each recorded a score versus Belmont. Austin Peay will return home to host SIUE on Friday and Eastern Illinois on Sunday.
BELMONT (5-3-1 overall, 1-1-0 OVC): Belmont fell to SIUE before defeating Austin Peay last week. Junior Megan Michela scored the game-winning goal in the 84th minute versus Austin Peay. It was her second goal of the season. The Bruins will return to action on Friday when it hosts Eastern Illinois.
EASTERN ILLINOIS (5-4-1 overall, 0-1-0 OVC): Eastern Illinois dropped a match at Mairan (Ind.) before falling to SIUE at home to open up OVC play last week. Eastern Illinois will head back out on the road this week as it travels to Belmont on Friday and Austin Peay on Sunday.
EASTERN KENTUCKY (4-3-2 overall, 1-0-1 OVC): Eastern Kentucky was unbeaten last week, defeating East Tennessee State and Morehead State and playing to a draw with Austin Peay. Senior Emmi Carroll scored a pair of goals last week. She scored the insurance goal against ETSU and recorded a goal versus Morehead State. Junior defender Haley Kemper came forward to score the game tying goal versus APSU. Senior goalkeeper Anna Hall helped the Colonels get two wins and a draw last week. She also picked up her first career assist in the win over ETSU. Hall made six saves versus the Buccaneers and finished the week with 12. Eastern Kentucky will host UT Martin on Friday and Southeast Missouri on Sunday.
JACKSONVILLE STATE (3-5-2 overall, 0-2-0 OVC): Jacksonville State dropped a pair of 1-0 matches last week to UT Martin and Tennessee Tech to open up league play. The Gamecocks will be back in action this week when it hosts Murray State in its only match of the week.
MOREHEAD STATE (1-7-0 overall, 0-2-0 OVC): Morehead State dropped a pair of overtime matches last week to Murray State and Eastern Kentucky to open up OVC action. Junior Cara Maher scored on a penalty kick versus the Colonels to send the game into overtime. She also recorded the assists on an early goal versus EKU. Junior defender Dani Wilson played all 194 minutes for the Eagles. She helped hold Murray State scoreless in regulation. Morehead State will host Southeast Missouri on Friday and UT Martin on Sunday.
MURRAY STATE (6-1-0 overall, 1-0-0 OVC): Murray State defeated Morehead State before suffering its first loss of the season to Saint Louis. Freshman Rebecca Kubin scored the game-winning goal to lift the Racers past the Eagles in their OVC opener. Kubin played every minute last week. Junior defender Cori Cain played all 188 minutes last week and provided the assist on Kubin’s goal. Junior goalkeeper Alex Steigerwald gave up just one goal and made eight saves in 188 minutes of action last week. She now ranks second in program history with 13 shutouts and 24 wins. Murray State will hit the road this week as it travels to Tennessee Tech on Thursday and Jacksonville State on Sunday.
SOUTHEAST MISSOURI (4-5-0 overall, 1-1-0 OVC): Southeast Missouri defeated Tennessee Tech in overtime before falling to UT Martin to open up league play last week. Freshman Lexi Grote scored the game-winning goal in the 93rd minute against Tech. It was her second goal of the season and her first game-winner. Junior defender Maddie Karstens played all 182 minutes last week and was part of a defense that gave up just one goal over the two matches. Freshman goalkeeper Maddie Gleeson came into the Tennessee Tech game prior to halftime to pick up the combined shutout. She played all 90 minutes versus UT Martin, giving up just one goal and making four saves. The Redhawks will travel to Morehead State on Friday and Eastern Kentucky on Sunday.
SIUE (4-4-1 overall. 2-0-0 OVC): SIUE opened up OVC play with wins over Belmont and Eastern Illinois last week. Freshman MacKenzie Litzsinger recorded an assist versus Belmont and scored the game-winning goal versus Eastern Illinois. Freshman defender Mallory Mushill played 123 minutes last week and was part of the defense that allowed just one goal over the two matches. Senior goalkeeper Juli Rossi gave up just one goal and made seven saves last week. She picked up the shutout versus Eastern Illinois. SIUE will travel to Austin Peay on Friday for its only match of the week.
TENNESSEE TECH (4-4-0 overall, 1-1-0 OVC): Tennessee Tech fell to Southeast Missouri in overtime before defeating Jacksonville State to open up Conference play last week. Freshman Kendall Powell scored the game-winning goal at Jacksonville State. She is the first player to have two goals and two game-winning goals this season. Senior defender Lauren Brewer played every minute of both games last week. She helped the defense record the shutout versus the Gamecocks. Junior goalkeeper Kari Naerdemann did not give up a goal in regulation last week. She recorded her fourth shutout of the season to give her 22 in her career. She finished the week with just one goal allowed and eight saves. Tennessee Tech will host Murray State on Thursday in its only match of the week.
UT MARTIN (4-5-2 overall, 2-0-0 OVC): UT Martin defeated Jacksonville State and Southeast Missouri last week to open up OVC play. It marks the first time since 2015 that the Skyhawks opened OVC play going 2-0. Alice Adams and Nicole Collins each scored a goal against Jacksonville State and Southeast Missouri, respectively. Sophomore defender Alexius Thomas was part of a defense that did not give up a goal over two matches. She also tallied her first career assist versus Southeast Missouri. Freshman goalkeeper Erica Myers picked her first to shutouts of the season last week. She did not give up a goal and made 10 saves over the two matches. The Skyhawks will travel to Eastern Kentucky on Friday and Morehead State on Sunday.
