Co-Offensive
Kirstin Roberston, M/F, 5-4, Sr., Ashland City, Tenn. - Austin Peay
Robertson scored a pair of goals as Austin Peay went 2-0 last week. She scored the game-winning goal in the 68th minute versus SIUE. She also found the back of the net versus Eastern Illinois. Robertson finished the week with six shots, three of which were on goal.
 
Belicia Mendiola, F, 5-3, Sr., McKinney, Texas - Belmont
Mendiola scored both Belmont’s goals in the win over Eastern Illinois. It was her second mulit-score game of the season. She netted the eventual game-winner in the 30th minute and added an insurance score in the 86th minute. Mendiola recorded six shots, four of which were on goal.

Nyomi Devine, D, 5-6, Sr., Beaudesert, Australia - Murray State
Devine played all 200 minutes against Tennessee Tech and Jacksonville State to help the Racers remain unbeaten in OVC play this season. She anchored a defense that didn’t allow a goal in back-to-back matches.
 
Lauren Kaempfe, D, 5-3, Jr., Columbia, Ill. - Southeast Missouri
Kaempfe, who has been playing on the Redhawks’ backline much of the season, came forward on a corner kick to score the game-tying goal versus Morehead State. She was also part of a defense that helped Southeast Missouri earn a pair of draws last week. She played 175 minutes last week.

Goalkeeper
Alex Steigerwald, GK, 5-8, Jr., West Chester, Ohio  - Murray State
Steigerwald recorded a pair of shutouts last week in the draw with Tennessee Tech and win over Jacksonville State.  She now has four shutouts this season and 15 in her career. In 200 minutes in net, she made nine saves.

2017 OVC Women’s Soccer Team News
 
AUSTIN PEAY (7-3-1 overall, 2-1-1 OVC): Austin Peay defeated SIUE and Eastern Illinois last week. With the two wins, the Governors improved to 6-0 at home this season. Senior Kirstin Robertson scored a goal in each match, including a penalty shot for the game-winner against the Cougars. She now has nine goals on the season. Sophomore defender Renee Semaan played all 180 minutes for the Govs last week. She helped anchor a defense that gave up just one goal over two matches. Austin Peay will hit the road this week as it will travel to Jacksonville State on Friday and Tennessee Tech on Sunday.
 
BELMONT (6-3-1 overall, 2-1-0 OVC): Belmont defeated Eastern Illinois in its only game of the week. Senior Belicia Mendiola scored both goals against the Panthers. It marked her second multi-score match of the season. She finished the match with five shots, including four on goal. Senior defender Heather Ferrari was part of a defense that did not give up a goal and held EIU to five shots. She also assisted on Mendiola’s second goal of the game. Sophomore Lily Herman picked up the shutout and she did not allow a goal and made one stop in the win. Belmont will host Tennessee Tech on Friday and Jacksonville State on Sunday. 
 
EASTERN ILLINOIS (5-6-1 overall, 0-3-0 OVC): Eastern Illinois was shutout by Belmont and Austin Peay last week. The Panthers will look to pick up their first OVC win of the season this week as it hosts Eastern Kentucky on Friday and Morehead State on Sunday.
 
EASTERN KENTUCKY (5-3-3 overall, 2-0-2 OVC): Eastern Kentucky shutout UT Martin before playing to a draw with Southeast Missouri to remain unbeaten in OVC play this season. Junior Baily Bounds scored the game-winning goal versus the Skyhawks. It was her second goal of the season. She recorded seven shots, five of which were on goal. Freshman defender Jess Philpot assisted on the game-tying against the Redhawks. She was also a part of a defense that gave up just one goal over the two matches. Senior Anna Hall recorded six stops to pick up the shutout versus UT Martin. She now has 19 shutouts in her career. She finished the week allowing just one goal and making 12 saves over the two matches. Eastern Kentucky will hit the road this week as it travels to Eastern Illinois on Friday and SIUE on Sunday.
 
JACKSONVILLE STATE (3-6-2 overall, 0-3-0 OVC): Jacksonville State fell to Murray State in its only game of the week. The Gamecocks will return to action this weekend and will be looking to earn its first league win as they host Austin Peay on Friday and travel to Belmont on Sunday. 
 
MOREHEAD STATE (2-7-1 overall, 1-2-1 OVC): Morehead State played to a draw with Southeast Missouri before defeating UT Martin last week. Sophomore Ashley Ritchie scored the game-winning goal in the come-from-behind victory against the Skyhawks. Junior Dani Wilson played all 200 minutes last week. She recorded an assist versus UT Martin. She was also part of a defense that held Southeast Missouri without a goal for 89 minutes. The Eagles will travel to SIUE on Friday and Eastern Illinois on Sunday.
 
MURRAY STATE (7-1-1 overall, 2-0-1 OVC): Murray State played to a draw with Tennessee Tech and defeated Jacksonville State to remain unbeaten in league action this year. Freshman Rebecca Kubin scored a goal and tallied an assist in the win over JSU. She scored what proved to be the game-winner just four minutes into the contest. Senior Nyomi Devine played all 200 minutes last week and anchored a defense that did not give up a goal. Junior goalkeeper Alex Steigerwald notched a pair of shutouts to give her four on the season and 15 in her career. She made nine stops in 200 minutes of action. Harriet Withers is now tied for the all-time goals record at Murray State with 34. She also set a new program mark for points with 82. Murray State on host Southeast Missouri on Thursday and UT Martin Saturday. 
 
SOUTHEAST MISSOURI (4-5-2 overall, 1-1-2 OVC): Southeast Missouri played to a pair of draws with Morehead State and Eastern Kentucky last week. Junior defender Lauren Kaempfe came forward on a corner kick to score the game-tying goal with 37 seconds left to play in regulation against Morehead State. She also anchored a defense that gave up just one goal in each match. Senior goalkeeper Kindra Lierz played all 220 minutes in net last week. In the draw against EKU, she broke SEMO’s all-time saves record, recording her 255th save. She tied a season-best with six stops against the Colonels. She finished the week with a total of 10 saves. Southeast Missouri will travel to Murray State on Thursday for its only match of the week.
 
SIUE (4-5-1 overall. 2-1-0 OVC): SIUE fell to Austin Peay in its only match of the week. Sophomore defender Krista McMahan played just 29 minutes versus the Governors and scored the Cougars lone goal of the game. It was her first goal of the season. SIUE will return home this week when it welcomes Morehead State on Friday and Eastern Kentucky on Sunday.
 
TENNESSEE TECH (4-4-1 overall, 1-1-1 OVC): Tennessee Tech played to a scoreless draw with Murray State in its only match of the week. Senior defender Lauren Brewer played all 110 minutes of the match. She helped the Golden Eagles record their fifth shutout of the season. Brewer has played every minute of every game this season. Junior goalkeeper Kari Naerdemann earned her fifth shutout of the season as she made five saves over 110 minutes. She now has 23 shutouts for her career. The Golden Eagles will travel to Belmont on Friday before returning home to host Austin Peay on Sunday.
 
UT MARTIN (4-7-2 overall, 2-2-0 OVC): UT Martin dropped matches to Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State last week. Junior Danae Kaldaridou netted a goal and tallied an assist while junior Katelyn Colvin also scored a goal against Morehead State. Kakdaridou now has a team-leading four goals while Colvin is second on the team with three scores. The Skyhawks will travel to Murray State on Sunday.
