OVC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK – Jan. 15

Brock averaged 26.5 points per game while shooting 56.7 percent from the floor and 53.8 percent from beyond the arc. She scored 20 points with six three-pointers versus SIUE.  Brock followed that up with a career-best 33 points while hitting eight three-pointers. The 33 points were the most by an OVC play this season. Her eight three-pointers were tied for fourth in Tech history.

Adebayo averaged a double-double for the second straight week. She had 25 points and 12 rebounds against UT Martin and followed that up with 15 points and 10 rebounds. She now has eight double-doubles on the year. She was 11-for-16 from the free throw line on the week, which all came against UT Martin.

FRESHMAN
Macey Turley, G •  Fr., 5-6  • Murray, Ky. • Murray State
Turley recorded 11 points versus UT Martin and followed that up with a season-best 32 points at Southeast Missouri. Her 32 points at SEMO made her the just the fourth freshman in program history to score 30 or more points in a single game. She shot 61.9 percent from the floor for the week, including going 9-for-14 against the Redhawks. Also against SEMO, she went 11-for-12 from the line. She had nine assists and three steals last week.

TEAM SNAPSHOTS
 
AUSTIN PEAY GOVS (2-2,7-8): Austin Peay fell on the road to Southeast Missouri and UT Martin last week. Junior Arielle Gonzalez-Varner scored 31 points over the two games. She led all players with 22 points versus UT Martin with 14 of them coming in the second half. Gonzalez-Varner also led the team in rebounds against Southeast Missouri with eight. The Governors will travel to SIUE on Thursday and Eastern Illinois on Saturday. 
 
BELMONT BRUINS (3-1, 10-5): Belmont defeated Morehead State and Eastern Kentucky last week. Senior Darby Maggard recorded 21 points, four rebounds and five assists versus Morehead State. Against Eastern Kentucky, she had 13 points, four rebounds and five assists. Maggard now has more than 600 assists for her career. For the week, she shot 52.0 percent from the floor, including hitting eight three-pointers. The Bruins will travel to Jacksonville State on Thursday before returning home to host Tennessee State on Saturday.
 
EASTERN ILLINOIS PANTHERS (1-3,7-8): Eastern Illinois fell on the road to Jacksonville State and Tennessee Tech last week. Senior Carmen Tellez mad her first two starts of the season and shot over 60 percent from the field and three-point range. She recorded career-highs of 26 points and five rebounds versus Tennessee Tech. She also had a season-high four assists versus the Golden Eagles. Freshman Abby Wahl nearly had a double-double with eight points and nine rebounds against Jacksonville State. In her first career start, she shot 66.7 percent from the field and recorded 10 points at Tech. Eastern Illinois returns home to host Murray State on Thursday and Austin Peay on Saturday.
 
EASTERN KENTUCKY COLONELS (0-4, 2-13): Eastern Kentucky fell at Tennessee State and Belmont last week. Against Tennessee State, all nine colonels scored. Teri Goodlett led the team with 14 points in the loss at Belmont. Against the Bruins, EKU trailed by just four points at the half after hitting six first-half three pointers. Eastern Kentucky will host UT Martin on Thursday and Southeast Missouri on Saturday.
 
JACKSONVILLE STATE GAMECOCKS (2-2, 8-7): Jacksonville State defeated Eastern Illinois before falling to SIUE last week. Senior Rayven Pearson matched her season-best with 12 rebounds against SIUE, finishing one point shy of her seventh double-double. She added eight points against Eastern Illinois. Freshman Yamia Johnson scored 14 points in the win over EIU. She finished the week with 18 points. Jacksonville State will host Belmont on Thursday and Tennessee Tech on Saturday.
 
MOREHEAD STATE EAGLES (2-2, 11-6): Morehead State fell at Belmont before defeating Tennessee State last week. Senior Miranda Crockett surpassed the 1,500-point mark for her career. She has scored in double-figures in 22 straight games. She currently ranks ninth on the school's all-time list. Junior Aliyah Jeune posted back-to-back double-doubles last week. She had 15 points and a game-high 12 rebounds against Belmont. Jeune nearly had a triple-double versus TSU with 19 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. The Eagles will host Southeast Missouri on Thursday and UT Martin on Saturday. The game with the Skyhawks can be seen on ESPN3.
 
MURRAY STATE RACERS (2-2, 6-9): Murray State fell at UT Martin before defeating Southeast Missouri last week. Junior Evelyn Adebayo averaged a double-double for the second straight week. She now has eight double-doubles for the season. She had 25 points and 12 rebounds versus UTM and followed that with 15 points and 10 rebounds at SEMO. Freshman Macey Turley put up 11 points against UT Martin and followed that up with a season-high 32 points at SEMO. She became just the fourth freshman in program history to score 30-plus points in a game. Murray State will travel to Eastern Illinois on Thursday and SIUE on Saturday.
 
SOUTHEAST MISSOURI REDHAWKS (2-2, 7-8): Southeast Missouri defeated Austin Peay before falling to Murray State last week. The Redhawks has forced 15-plus turnovers in 13 games this season. They have forced a total of 306 turnovers this season. Sophomore LaTrese Saine recorded 17 points, 15 rebounds and six blocks over the two games. She had a season-high four blocks versus the Racers. Southeast Missouri will travel to Morehead State on Thursday and Eastern Kentucky on Saturday.
 
SIUE COUGARS (2-2,7-8): SIUE fell to Tennessee Tech before defeating Jacksonville State last week. Senior Sydney Bauman recorded 19 points, 12 rebounds, seven blocks and three assists last week. She had 11 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks versus Tech. Christen King recorded a season-high versus the Golden Eagles, the most points scored by a Cougar this season. Junior Alek Akuen recorded season-highs of seven points and eight rebounds versus JSU. SIUE will host Austin Peay on Thursday and Murray State on Saturday.
 
TENNESSEE STATE LADY TIGERS (1-3, 1-15): Tennessee State picked up its first win of the season as it defeated Eastern Kentucky before falling to Morehead State. Senior Tia Wooten averaged 15.5 points and 12.0 rebounds last week while eclipsing the 1,000-point mark for her career. Freshman Terrysha Banner recorded 13 points on 4-of-7 shooting from three-point range versus EKU. She followed that up with 16 points, two assists and one steal against Morehead State. Tennessee State will travel to Tennessee Tech on Wednesday and Belmont on Saturday.
 
TENNESSEE TECH GOLDEN EAGLES (4-0, 12-3): Tennessee Tech defeated SIUE and Eastern Illinois to remain undefeated in OVC play this season. The Golden Eagles have won its last seven games. Sophomore Jordan Brock averaged 26.5 points over the two games. She had 20 points, including hitting six three pointers versus SIUE. She followed that with a career-best 33 points with eight three-pointers against EIU. It was the highest point total in a single game in the OVC this season. Anacia Wilkinson recorded her second career double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds versus SIUE. She followed that up matching her career-high with 18 points to go with nine rebounds versus EIU. Tennessee Tech will host Tennessee State on Wednesday before traveling to Jacksonville State on Saturday.
 
UT MARTIN SKYHAWKS (3-1, 11-4): UT Martin defeated Murray State and Austin Peay last week. Head coach Kevin McMillan sits in sole possession of third place on the OVC's all-time list with 184 career victories. Senior Emanye Robertson averaged 20.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 6.5 assists over the two games. She had 24 points and eight assists versus Murray State. She followed that up with 17 points versus Austin Peay to become the 15th player in UT Martin history to join the 1,000-point club. The Skyhawks will travel to Eastern Kentucky on Thursday and Morehead State on Saturday. The game with Morehead State can be seen on ESPN3.
