JACKSOVNILLE, Ala. - Third-seeded Murray State defeated No. 6 UT Martin, 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-19) to advance to the semifinals of the 2019 OVC Volleyball Tournament. The Racers will face the winner of the Southeast Missouri/Tennessee Tech match on Friday at 3:30 p.m. CT.
Rachel Giustino led the Racers with 19 kills and 19 digs. Rachel Holthaus added 13 kills and seven digs. Ashley McBee dished out 35 assist to go with three kills and three digs.
Logan Wallick and Karen Scantlon each recorded eight kills to lead the Skyhawks. Lucy Kaufman recorded a team-best 13 digs while Kenzie Hinshaw handed out 27 assist.
SOUTHEAST MISSOURI 3, TENNESSEE TECH 1
JACKSONVILLE, Ala. - Second-seeded Southeast Missouri defeated No. 7 Tennessee Tech in four sets (25-11, 21-25, 25-18, 28-26) to advance to the semifinals of the 2019 OVC Volleyball Championship. The Redhawks will face No. 3 Murray State tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. CT.
Mikayla Kuhlmann led Southeast Missouri with 13 kills while Laney Malloy notched a double-double with 11 kills and 14 digs. Tara Beilsmith registered a team-high 16 digs. Clair Ochs also had a double-double with 43 assist and 13 digs.
Tennessee Tech's Taylor Dorsey recorded a match-high 17 kills while Ali Verzani led all players with 20 digs to go with 13 kills. Skylar Boom added 11 kills. Ashley Hand dished out a match-high 50 assists.
MOREHEAD STATE 3, AUSTIN PEAY 1
JACKSONVILLE, Ala. - Fourth-seeded Morehead State defeated No. 5 Austin Peay, 3-1 (20-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-18) to advance to the semifinals of the 2019 OVC Volleyball Championship. The Eagles will play the winner of the Jacksonville State/SIUE match on Friday at 6 p.m. CT.
Lauren Rokey led Morehaed State with 19 kills while Olivia Lohmeier recorded 16 kills. Hannah Keating also reached double-digt in kills with 10 while also hitting .474 for the match. Bridget Bessler notched a double-double with 44 assists and 13 digs. Allison Whitten led the team with 14 digs.
austin Peay's Brooke Moore led the team with 12 kills and 20 digs. Chloe Stitt added 10 kills.
JACKSONVILLE STATE 3, SIUE 0
JACKSONVILLE, Ala. - Top-seeded Jacksonville State swept SIUE (32-30, 25-16, 25-23) to advance to the semifinals of the 2019 OVC Volleyball Championship. The Gamecocks will face No. 4 Morehead State on Friday at 6 p.m. CT.
Kaylie Milton led the Gamecocks with 14 kills and a .333 hitting percentage. Erin Carmichael had a team-best 13 digs while Dani Steele added 12. Lexie Libs dished out 38 assists in the win.
SIUE's Rachel McDonald led all players with 16 kills to go with nine digs. Hope Everett added 11 kills while Mallory Nicholson had a double-double with 21 assists and 12 digs.
