OVC Track & Field Athletes of the Week – February 6
MALE TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
James Sugira, Fr., Kigali, Rwanda – Eastern Kentucky
Sugira finished fourth and was the top collegiate finisher in the 3,000 meters at the Camel City Elite. He recorded a time of 7:58.1 which is first in the OVC and ninth in the country. It is also the second fastest 3,000 meters in EKU history.

FEMALE TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Aly Goff, Jr., Springfield, Ill. - SIUE
Goff finished the mile at the Meyo Invitational with a time of 4:59.35. That mark is second in the OVC and is also second all time at SIUE.

Co-MALE FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Joe Smith, Sr., Robinson, Ill. – Eastern Illinois
Smith took second out of 21 competitors in the triple jump at the Notre Dame Meyo Invite last week. His distance of 50-01.25 is second in the OVC and moved him into sixth in EIU history.
Logan Blomquist, Jr., Pleasant Hill, Mo. – Southeast Missouri
Blomquist won the weight throw at the Fred Wilt Open last week. His toss of 62-09.50 is a career-best and is second in the OVC. He also took sixth in the shop put with a mark of 51-11.75.

FEMALE FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Khemani Roberts, Sr., Bon Accord, Trinidad and Tobago – Tennessee Tech
Roberts won the pentathlon with a season-best 3,791 points which is first in the league this year. She picked first place finishes in the 60m hurdles, high jump and long jump while placing in the shot put and 800 meters.
