Belmont University men's basketball senior Seth Adelsperger has been named to the 2019-20 CoSIDA Academic All-District® Division I Men's Basketball Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced Thursday.

The 6-11 center has been a central figure in Belmont's championship and postseason tradition. With his redshirt year in 2016, Adelsperger has been part of 115 victories - including Power 5 victories over UCLA, Marquette, Georgia, Vanderbilt and Boston College - three conference championships, four postseason invitations and Belmont's first-ever NCAA Tournament at-large bid.

The Peru, Indiana native has 48 career blocked shots and is averaging 3.1 blocked shots per 40 minutes this season.

A two-time member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court, a perennial OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient and 2019 Academic Medal of Honor recipient - emblematic of a 4.0 PGA for the academic year - Adelsperger currently holds a 3.77 grade-point average in his chosen major of environmental science, with a mathematics minor.

Adelsperger becomes the 23rd Belmont men's basketball student-athlete named Academic All-District.

The 2019-20 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District® Men's Basketball Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, with first-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees to be announced in March.

The Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and College Division. The College Division includes all NAIA, Canadian, two-year schools, and other affiliations.

The Division II and III Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures, to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2018-19 DII and DIII Academic All-America® teams.
