MALE TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Adam Swanson, R-Fr., Carpentersville, Ill. – Eastern Illinois
Swanson opened up the outdoor track season with a first-place finish in the 800 meters at the SIU Bill Cornell Classic. He posted a time of 1:49.66 which is first in the OVC and ranks fifth in the NCAA. It also is fifth on the EIU career list.

FEMALE TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Kaitlyn Shea, Sr., Jefferson City, Mo. – Southeast Missouri
Shea won the 5,000 meters at the SIU Bill Cornell Classic. She posted a career-best time of 16:27.27 to move her into the top spot on SEMO’s all-time list. Her time is the best in the OVC this season and ranks fifth in the NCAA.

MALE FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
R’Lazon Brumfield, Sr., Jacksonville, Fla. – Tennessee State
Brumfield earned a pair of first-place finishes last week at the UCF Invitational. He took first in the long jump with a mark of 23-02.75 while also taking the triple jump with a distance of 51-03.00. Both marks rank first in the OVC this season.

FEMALE FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Meghan Fletcher, So., Grayslake, Ill. – Murray State
Fletcher won the high jump at the SIU Bill Cornell Classic last week. Her mark of 5-08 is a personal record and is first n the OVC this year. It also ranks fifth in the NCAA East Region.
