OVC Track & Field Athletes of the Week – January 19
 
MALE TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Ben Naeger, Sr. Ste. Genevieve, Mo. – Belmont
Naeger took second in the 5000-meters at the Commodore Challenge. His personal best time of 14:46.30 is first in the OVC this season.
 
Terrico Garrett, Jr., University City, Mo. – Southeast Missouri
Garrett had a trio of top 10 finishes at the Redhawks Invite last week. He won the 800 meters with a time of 1:49.30 which is currently best in the OVC this year. Garrett was also a part of the 4x400-meter relay team that took second with a time of 3:35.37. He placed seventh in the 200 meters with a time of 24.70

FEMALE TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Kenisha Phillips, Jr., Georgetown, Guyana – Austin Peay
Phillips finished third in the 400-meters at the Commodore Challenge last week. Here time of 56.33 is first in the OVC and 49th in the NCAA this season. She was also part of the 4x400-meter relay team that placed fourth with a time of 3:54.35, which is second in the league this year.

MALE FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Luke Hatfield-Jackson, Jr., Arnold, Mo. – Southeast Missouri
Hatfield-Jackson picked up a pair of first-place finishes at the Redhawks Invite last week. He won the high jump with a mark of 6-09.75 and the long jump with a distance of 24-10.50. His long jump mark is first the OVC this season. Hatfield-Jackson now owns the top spot in the conference in both the high jump and long jump.

Co-FEMALE FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Tyra Finkeldey, Sr., Old Saybrook, Conn. – Belmont
Finkeldey placed second in the pole vault at the Commodore Challenge. She set a new school record with a mark of 13-01.50 which ranks second in the league this season.
 
Nicole Humphreys, Sr., Jackson, Mo. – Southeast Missouri
Humphreys earned a pair of first-place finishes at the Redhawks Invitational last week. She took first in the shot put with a toss of 46-10.25 and won the weight throw with a mark of 62-02.25. Her shot put was a career-best and is first in the OVC. Humphreys now owns the top spots in both the shot put and weight throw.

MALE FRESHMAN  OF THE WEEK
Marshall Swadley, Fr, Willard, Mo. – Southeast Missouri
Swadley had a pair of top 3 finishes at the Redhawks Invite last week. He took first in the shot put with a mark of 53-02.75 while placing third in the weight throw with a distance of 56-10.00. His shot put mark is first the OVC while his weight throw distance is second.

Co-FEMALE FRESHMAN  OF THE WEEK
Lucy Singleton, Fr., Stanford, Ky. – Morehead State
Singleton took first in the 600-meters at the Marshall Classic last week. Her time of 1:38.33 set a new meet record.
 
JayleAna Wyatt, Fr., Jackson, Tenn. – UT martin
Wyatt had a pair of first-place finishes at the Redhawk Invite last week. She took the 55-meters with a time of 7.27 while also winning the 200 meters in 26.82. Both marks are in the top 10 OVC this season.
