TUNICA, Miss. - Little Rock is the leader after round one of the 2024 OVC Women's Golf Championship.
The OVC Championship is being played at the Tunica National golf course for the first time. The course is playing a par 72 with yardage running 6,167 yards for the women's teams on Sunday. Sunday’s weather was warm and windy.
The Trojans combined to shoot +14, which was nine shots better than defending champion Morehead State (+23). Western Illinois and Lindenwood are tied for third (+37), and followed by Chicago State (+39), Eastern Illinois (+41), Tennessee State (+46), Tennessee Tech (+47) and Southern Indiana (+58).
Individually, Little Rock’s Anna Dawson fired an even par round of 72 to be the leader by two shots of teammate Eleonore Aernouts. Morehead State’s McKenzie Moore is third while a trio of players – Chicago State’s Koranis Boonmadee, Morehead State’s Olivia Hensley and Lindenwood Andrea Alvarez – are tied for fourth.
The OVC Women's Golf Championship will continue with 18 holes of second round action on Monday. The action starts at 8:00 a.m. CT and live scoring can be accessed through links at OVCSports.com.
