Little Rock Remains Leader After Round Two of 2024 OVC Women's Golf Championship

TUNICA, Miss. – Little Rock maintained its lead after round two of the 2024 OVC Women's Golf Championship.

The OVC Championship is being played at the Tunica National golf course for the first time. The course is playing a par 72 with yardage running 6,196 yards for the women's teams on Monday.  Monday’s weather was once again windy, but slightly less than Sunday.

The Trojans entered the round with a nine shot lead and saw the advantage shrink slightly after the day. Little Rock sit at +31 for the event, which is five shots ahead of Morehead State (+36). Western Illinois (+54) is third (after shooting 20 shots better than Sunday) and followed by Lindenwood (+62) and Tennessee Tech (+64 – who was 30 shots better than the first round). The field is rounded out by Chicago State (+79), Eastern Illinois (+80), Tennessee State (+92) and Southern Indiana (+107).

Individually, Little Rock’s Anna Dawson remained the individual leader after a second round score of 75, putting her at 147 (+3) for the event. She is three shots ahead of teammate Eleonore Aernouts (+6), the OVC Freshman of the Year. Lindenwood’s Andrea Alvarez and Morehead State’s Olivia Hensley are tied for third (+7) while MSU’s Amelia Greenlee and Western Illinois’ Natalie Hooper are tied for fifth (+9).

The OVC Women's Golf Championship will conclude with 18 holes of third round action on Monday. The action starts at 7:30 a.m. CT and live scoring can be accessed through links at OVCSports.com.
