Little Rock Men, Southeast Missouri Women Win 2024 OVC Outdoor Track and Field Championship

CHARLESTON, Ill. 
- The Little Rock men and the Southeast Missouri women win the 2024 Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship. It marked the first OVC outdoor title for Little Rock, while the Redhawks secured their 12th overall title (and second-straight). 



Little Rock’s Matthew Tyeskie and Cogan Derousselle finished one-two in the 110m hurdles. The duo both finished with times under the OVC record time of 13.89 set by Ron Bramlett of MTSU in 1999. Derousselle crossed the line in 13.84 just behind Tyeskie who set the new standard as a freshman with a time of 13.70.

The two hurdlers paced the Trojans who finished with 220 points, ahead of Eastern Illinois (190.5) and Southeast Missouri (142.5). Tennessee State placed fourth (81) followed by Lindenwood (55), Western Illinois (55), UT Martin (35), SIUE (32) and Southern Indiana (5). 

Southeast Missouri’s Jaden Kight set a new OVC record in the javelin with a toss of 48.31m (158’6”). The senior surpassed the previous record of 46.28m set in 2010 by SEMO’s Samantha Espiricueta.

Kight helped pace the Redhawks to 197 points, finishing ahead of second place Little Rock with 147.5 points. Western Illinois finished third with 114 points, Eastern Illinois (103) was fourth and Tennessee Tech (59.5) placed fifth. Lindenwood finished sixth with 48 points and was followed by Tennessee State (44), SIUE (44), UT Martin (29), Southern Indiana (22) and Morehead State (11).
