Trio of OVC Student-Athletes Set for NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships


A trio of Ohio Valley Conference student-athletes will compete at the 2024 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The event is being held June 5-8 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

Western Illinois’ Arnie Grunert qualified by placing seventh in the pole vault at the NCAA West Regional in Fayetteville, Ark., clearing 5.42m (17’09.25”) on his second attempt. The mark is a personal best, and it matched the top height of the event.
 
Parker Feuerborn of Southeast Missouri secured a spot at the national championships with a toss of 66.97m (219’08.00”) in the hammer throw.
 
Ramsey Hunt of Eastern Illinois qualified in the long jump with a leap of 7.70m (25’03.25”).
 
All three competitors will be in action on Wednesday, June 5, the opening day of the finals. Feuerborn will compete at 4:00 p.m. CT, Grunert begins at 7:00 p.m. CT, while Hunt starts at 8:00 p.m. CT.
