The 2024 Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship starts today at O’Brien Field on the campus of Eastern Illinois. This year marks the 70th overall men's outdoor championship (first held in 1949) and the 44th overall women's outdoor championship (first held in 1979). Southeast Missouri claimed both the men's and women’s title in 2023. The men earned its 10th Championship, while the women's team secured its 12th title.
The meet begins at 9:00 a.m. with the first four events of the Heptathlon and the first five events of the Decathlon starting at 9:30 a.m. The field events start at 1:00 p.m. with the first medals being awarded in the women’s hammer and long jump, as well as the men’s pole vault, hammer, and long jump.
The running events begin at 5:00 p.m. and will conclude with the finals in the men’s and women’s 10,000-meter run.
