Nick Gooden has been awarded the 2024 Gold Glove Award by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and Rawlings.
Gooden is the first OVC player since 2011 (SIUE's Spencer Patton) to earn the prestigious honor. He was one of nine Division I players to earn the honor this season.
Gooden put together one of the most mistake-free seasons in program history, recording a .993 fielding percentage on 300 total chances. He made just two errors in 61 games. He had 124 putouts and 174 assists. Over the past two seasons, Gooden had 536 fielding chances and committed just six errors.
Offensively, Gooden had a solid campaign as well. He hit .348 with 18 doubles and 10 home runs while driving in 62 runs.
The ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Awards are selected by ABCA coaches committees at each level: NCAA Div. I, II & III, NAIA, NJCAA Div. I, II & III, Pacific Association Division, and High School.
