OVC Basketball Media Day Powered by CenterPoint Energy: Tennessee Tech

• Preseason Releases: Men, Women | Media Day Recap

The Tennessee Tech women's team was picked second while the men's squad was tabbed seventh in the 2025-26 OVC Preseason Poll voted on by league head coaches and communications directors.

The predictions were released as part of the OVC Basketball Media Day powered by Centerpoint Energy, which was held on October 14.

For the men's team, among the players to watch for the season are JaJuan Nicholls and Mekhi Cameron. Nicholls appeared in 23 games with 15 starts, averaging 8.5 points per game during his sophomore season while Cameron averaged 8.6 points per game a season ago.

Although picked second in the preseason poll, the TTU women's program did receive the most first-place votes in the poll. A year ago the team won the OVC Tournament Championship with an overtime victory over Lindenwood. The team returns senior Reghan Grimes who was an All-OVC selection last year when she averaged 12.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.6 steals/game. Also back is sophomore Chloe Larry who was named to the OVC All-Newcomer Team a year ago after averaging 11.5 points/game in 31 starts.

The TTU teams will look to be one of eight teams in each gender to qualify for the 2026 OVC Basketball Championships, which will be played March 4-7 at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana. For more information on the championship, click here.
