MURRAY, Ky. - Murray State won its fifth-straight and 19th overall Ohio Valley Conference Rifle Championship, finishing with an aggregate of 4728. The Racers won the smallbore with 2350 and finished the air rifle with a top score of 2378 on Saturday.
Morehead State came in second overall with a score of 4666 while UT Martin followed with 4654.
Murray State's Zach Jackson won the Smallbore competition with a score of 589, edging teammate John Blanton by a fraction of a point. Blanton secured the top mark in the Air Rifle competition with a score of 599, three points ahead of fellow Racer Scott Patterson.
Jackson was named OVC Smallbore Athlete of the Year, while Blanton was named Co-Air Rifle Athlete of the year.
Murray State’s Carlotta Salafia shared the Co-Air Rifle Athlete of the Year award and also claimed the OVC Freshman of the Year.
Murray State's Alan Lollar was tabbed OVC Coach of the Year for the 10th time in his career.
