Morehead State Leads After Round One of 2025 OVC Women's Golf Championship

MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. – Morehead State is the leader after round one of the 2025 OVC Women's Golf Championship.

The OVC Championship is being played on the Fighting Joe Course at RTJ at The Shoals for the fifth time and first since 2023. The course is playing a par 72 with yardage running 6,016 yards for the women's teams on Sunday.  Sunday’s weather was clear with temperatures in the 70s.

The Eagles, who won the Championship when it was last played on the course (2023), combined to shoot +3 as a team and holds a 13-shot lead over defending champion Little Rock. Tennessee Tech (+18) is third and followed by Lindenwood (+30), Western Illinois (+35), Bryant (+39), Eastern Illinois (+40), Southern Indiana (+42) and Tennessee State (+58).

Individually, Lindenwood’s Andrea Alvarez and Morehead State’s Tavia Burgess are co-leaders after identical rounds of 71 (-1). MSU’s Hanna Montgomery is one shot back in third place, while MSU’s Amelia Greenlee and Tuva Isebakke, Tennessee Tech’s Chloe Griffin and defending medalist Anna Dawson from Little Rock are tied for fourth at +2.

The OVC Women's Golf Championship will continue with 18 holes of second round action on Monday. The action starts at 8:00 a.m. CT and live scoring can be accessed through links at OVCSports.com.
