Payton Brown, IF, So., 5-5, Taylor Ridge, Ill. – Western Illinois
Brown batted .545 (6-for-11) with six runs scored and six runs batted in. The sophomore highlighted the week with a three-home run, including a grand slam, performance against Tennessee State. She tied the WIU program record for home runs in a single game. Opponents worked around Brown as she earned five walks while striking out just once. The shortstop added a double and a stolen base

PITCHER
Avery Arwood, P, Fr., 5-10, St. Joseph’s, Minn. – SIUE
Arwood recorded shutout wins against both Southern Indiana and Tennessee State leading to a 3-0 record for the week. The freshman earned her final victory in a relief appearance in the Cougars 10-9, nine-inning win to close out the TSU series. She finished with a 1.00 ERA, a 0.71 WHIP and 18 strikeouts in 14 innings pitched.
