Morehead State Women's Golf to Compete in NCAA Lexington Regional

The Morehead State women's golf team won't have to travel far to take part in their second NCAA Regional in the last three seasons. The Eagles were placed in the Lexington, Kentucky regional.

The tournament will take place at Keene Trace Golf Club on May 5-7. Morehead State is the OVC automatic qualifier after winning the league tournament by 29 strokes last week over second place Little Rock.

The Eagles will be the 11th seed in the 12-team Lexington Regional. Florida State, the ACC champion, is the top seed.

MSU will play alongside (in rank order): Florida State, Southern California, TCU, Vanderbilt, Kansas State, Georgia Southern, Pepperdine, Louisville, Miami (Fla.), Western Kentucky and Fairleigh Dickinson.

Two seasons ago, the Eagles played in the NCAA Westfield (Ind.) Regional. MSU's program also played in the 2011 NCAA Tournament, at Notre Dame.
