Co-Women’s Tennis Player of the Week
Amelia Gorman, Jr., Pittsburgh, Pa. – SIUE
Gorman earned a pair of three-set wins at No. 1 singles on the week for the Cougars. The junior dropped the first set, 2-6, to Lera Valeeva of Southeast Missouri before rallying to grab the next two sets 6-3, 7-5. Gorman closed out the week with a hard fought 6-7, 6-3, 10-8 win over Francisca Gomez-Weiss of Tennessee State, as she improved to 21-4 on the season.
Ornella Lomenzo, Fr., Brussels, Belgium – Eastern Illinois
Lomenzo earned three victories at the No. 2 position for Eastern Illinois. The freshman clinched the team win for the Panthers against Lindenood with a 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 and followed up with wins over the top two teams in the conference. She started with a 6-1, 5-7, 10-7 win over Western Illinois ahead of a 6-3, 6-2 victory against Southeast Missouri.

Women’s Tennis Doubles Team of the Week
Amelia Gorman (Jr., Pittsburgh, Pa.) & Stefaniya Anikina (So., Karaganda, Kazakhstan) – SIUE
Gorman and Anikina were 2-0 for the week at No. 1 doubles with wins over Southeast Missouri and Tennessee State. The pair defeated SEMO's Maja Bajorek and Mia Mayerova 6-4, ahead of a 6-3 victory against the top unit for the Tigers. Gorman and Anikina improved to 7-0 as a pair.
