Four Earn All-American Honors at NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships

All-America honors for the 2025 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field season were announced this week by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Athletes of member institutions earned First-Team All-America status by finishing among the top-8 of their events – including as a member of a relay – at the 2025 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships which was held in Eugene, Oregon. Second-Team All-America honors went to those student-athletes who finished between ninth and 16th place.

Honorable mention went to those student-athletes who finished 17th through 24th in their respective events at Hayward Field.

Eastern Illinois freshman Abraham Johnson was named a second-team All-American after he placed ninth in the triple jump. He posted five of his six jumps at the national championship over 50' with a best jump of 52'4.25" on his second attempt which advanced him to the finals.

Southeast Missouri graduate Luke Hatfield-Jackson claimed second-team All-American honors in the high jump by placing 15th, jumping over the height of 7' 0.5" (2.15m). 

SEMO senior Paden Lewis placed 19th in the men's discus to earn honorable mention All-American honors. Lewis threw to the distance of 184' 7" (56.27m) and finished his SEMO career with honorable mention All-American accolades.

Western Illinois junior Arnie Grunert also earned honorable mention All-American honors with a 20th place finish in the pole vault. Grunert started the event clearing 5.18 meters on his first attempt with ease moving on to the next height. At 5.32 meters he faulted on all three attempts ending a season to remember.
