OVC Players of the Week

OFFENSE
Alex Tetteh, F, 5-11, Jr., Plainfield, Ill. – Eastern Illinois
Tetteh recorded all five goals this past week helping EIU to a 3-0 start to OVC play. The junior matched the OVC and EIU record scoring four goals in a 4-0 win at Western Illinois. She was the third EIU player to ever score four goals in a contest, both occurring in 1997. Tetteh is the eighth OVC player to match the feat with the last coming in 2013. The forward capped off the week with the game-winning goal four minutes into the contest at UT Martin.

DEFENSE
Adison Welsh, D, 5-4, Fr., Crestwood, Ky. – Eastern Illinois
Welsh was the lone EIU field player to log all 180 minutes on the pitch, helping EIU post a pair of shutout wins. The freshman helped limit Western Illinois to two shots on goal in Thursday’s 4-0 victory. On Sunday she came forward assisting Alex Tetteh’s game-winning goal at UT Martin.

GOALKEEPER
Ella Kratochvil, GK, 5-11, Jr., Wind Lake, Wis. – Eastern Illinois
Kratochvil earned two clean sheets, increasing her continuous streak to five straight matches. The junior recorded two saves in a 4-0 win over Western Illinois. She followed by turning away 10 UT Martin shots in a 1-0 victory at UT Martin. It was the sixth shutout this year for the goalkeeper.
