OVC Male Golfer of the Month

Phillips averaged an OVC-best 70.5 strokes over six rounds in the month of October, netting a pair of Top 15 individual finishes. Four of his six rounds were under par including a career-best 66 (-5) in the opening round of the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate. He placed 15th out of 69 at The Scrappy at Pinetree to open the month, carding rounds of 75-70-74 to finish at 219 (+3), helping the Skyhawks to a runner-up finish. He followed that with 17 birdies at Twin Oaks, scoring 66-68-70 to finish at 204 (-9) and place fifth out of 53 competitors. His play helped UT Martin to the team title and guided the team to its best score (-31) since joining the Division I ranks in 1992. Overall for the fall season, Phillips' 71.1 stroke average ranks second in the OVC.

OVC Female Golfer of the Month

Manikandan competed in three events during the month of October, averaging 75.0 strokes over eight rounds. She opened the month with an 11th place finish at the Butler Fall Invitational, a field that included two other OVC teams. She had rounds of 72-74-72 to finish at 218 (+8). The freshman then placed 38th at the Missouri State Payne Stewart Invitational with rounds of 77-77-79 (223, +20). She capped the month by winning the Western Cup with scores of 81-71 (152, +8). Through the fall she ranks fourth in the OVC in scoring average (75.8).
