Avary Makarewicz, C, Sr., 6-0, Ripon, Wis. – UT Martin
Makarewicz helped UT Martin to a 4-0 week by batting .615 (8for-13) and turning in an on-base and slugging percentages of .667 and 1.231, respectively. Eight of the seniors’ hits on the weekend went for extra bases, including two doubles and two home runs, while driving in a team-high nine RBI. She tallied two hits and at least one RBI in each game, driving in four against Mississippi Valley and three against Saint Louis. She had the game-winner against the Billikens, a two-RBI single in the fifth that gave the Skyhawks the lead for good.

Sami Scholtz, P, Jr., 5-6, Fenton, Mo. – UT Martin
Scholtz picked up two saves on the week, helping UT Martin to a 4-0 week. The junior allowed no runs on three hits over 4.0 innings of work, while walking one and striking out six. She secured the win by retiring the final two batters over Saint Louis after entering with runners on first and second with one out in the seventh. Scholtz entered the game in the seventh against Valparaiso with runners on first and second with no outs. Sholtz retired the next two batters, ending the game on a strikeout.
Libby Spaulding, P, So., 6-0, Bourbonnais, Ill. – Western Illinois
Spaulding tossed a shutout game against Arkansas-Pine Bluff while striking out eight in the game. The sophomore totaled 13 strikeouts in nine innings and allowed one run for a 0.77 ERA.
