Morehead State and Southern Indiana have been invited to play in the WNIT as the tournament bracket and pairings were announced Monday. The Eagles are making their third appearance in the tournament, while USI is making its third showing in as many years.
MSU will be on the road for a first-round matchup at Radford. The Eagles produced a 18-14 record and finished fourth in the OVC at 13-7. The Highlanders enter with a 22-12 and finished runner-up in the Big South Conference at 12-4.
Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. CT on Friday, March 20, at Carilion Clinic Court at the Dedmon Center in Radford, Va. The winner will face Arkansas State (24-9) in the second round.
The Screaming Eagles posted a 21-10 record and will wait for the winner of the George Washington (15-17) and Bradley (20-12) matchup. USI will find out its location after Thursday’s first-round contest.
This marks the 28th edition of the Postseason WNIT, powered by Triple Crown Sports and first held in 1998. The tournament field consists of 48 teams.
