- The Bryant women's tennis team earned the 4-1 win over the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks in the OVC semifinals on Saturday afternoon.

The Bulldogs advance to the championship round tomorrow against the No. 1 seed SIUE at 1:00 PM. Bryant is one step closer to defending their title and winning back-to-back OVC championships.

The Bulldogs were forced to play from behind with SEMO securing the doubles point. Yahli Noy and Laura Stypula took care of business at No. 3 doubles (6-1), but Lisa Dugec and Lucia Pino suffered the loss at No. 2 doubles (6-2). It was up to Natalia Vela and Maria Jose Hernandez at No. 1 doubles to salvage the point. They fell in a tiebreaker in a back-and-forth battle (7-6) [7-5] as the Redhawks went up 1-0 in the match.

Bryant responded in a massive way in singles action. Mila Martinez picked up the win at No. 5 singles (6-2, 6-3) to get the Bulldogs on the board. Then, Noy earned the win at No. 1 singles (6-3, 6-4) to put Bryant up 2-1. The momentum carried over into No. 4 singles with Hernandez coming on top (6-4, 7-5). Dugec sealed the deal at No. 6 singles (6-4, 6-3), clinching the 4-1 win for the Bulldogs.
