BERMUDA RUN, N.C. – Little Rock Men's Golf wrapped up its NCAA Winston-Salem Regional appearance Wednesday at Bermuda Run Country Club, finishing 12th overall against one of the nation's strongest postseason fields.
The Trojans finished the 54-hole regional at 12-over-par after posting rounds of 302, 284 and 290. Little Rock's second-round 4-under-par team score Tuesday ranked among the best rounds of the tournament and helped the Trojans climb five spots on the leaderboard.
Sophomore Ed Featherstone paced the Trojans and finished tied for 42nd individually at 2-over-par following a final-round 75. Featherstone concluded another standout season after earning OVC Player of the Year honors and helping lead Little Rock to a second straight conference championship.
Freshman Viggo Talasmaki tied for 58th at 6-over-par after rounds of 72, 70 and 80, while Mark Stockdale also tied for 58th after firing a final-round 70 Wednesday.
Elliott Simonsen closed strong with a 2-under-par 69 in the final round to finish tied for 52nd overall at 5-over-par. Rhett South rounded out the Trojan lineup and finished 69th overall.
No. 3 Virginia and No. 15 Pepperdine shared the regional championship at 36-under-par. Ole Miss, USC and Mississippi State claimed the remaining NCAA Championship qualifying spots.
The NCAA Regional appearance capped another historic season for the Trojans, who captured back-to-back Ohio Valley Conference championships and advanced to NCAA postseason play for the second straight year.
