2021 OVC Women's Golf Championship
The 2021 OVC Women's Golf Championship was held April 18-20 at Hampton Cove on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in Owens Cross Roads, Alabama (just outside of Huntsville). The event was also held there from 2015-17. It was held on the Highlands Course.
Jacksonville State capped a start-to-finish in winning by 24 shots, the fourth-largest margin in tournament history. It marked the sixth overall championship for Jacksonville State and first since 2012. JSU has also won titles in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2012.
Complete recap.
Hampton Cove, the northern gateway to the Trail, is a 54-hole facility with terrain that drastically changes from one side of the property to the other. Renovated in 2008, The Highlands course has been restored to its orginal Scottish Links design. Completely opposite in design is the River course, the only Robert Trent Jones layout without a single bunker. The River Course is a throwback to the way courses were built long ago. The dirt was merely pushed up to create the greens and tees, leaving all else, including massive oak trees, undisturbed.
