AUSTIN PEAY 6, EASTERN ILLINOIS 1
CHARLESTON, Ill. - Andy Quiceno led the Austin Peay women’s soccer team to 6-1 win over Eastern Illinois on Friday afternoon at Lakeside Field, posting a hat trick in the Lady Govs victory. EIU falls to 4-11 (2-4 OVC) on the year.
In addition to Andy Quiceno’s three goals, Tatiana Ariza added two goals and two assists while her twin sister Natalia Ariza contributed two assists. All told, the Lady Govs (7-7, 3-2 OVC) recorded 18 points in the match.
Austin Peay jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the 12th minute, scoring their first of four, first-half goals. The Lady Govs added two more second-half goals before the Panthers cut their deficit to five (6-1).
Hannah Miller scored her second goal of the season with a shot from the left, just outside the top of the box. Classmate Molly Hawkins posted the assist on the play.

SOUTHEAST MISSOURI 1, EASTERN KENTUCKY 0
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Jacey Boyko's overtime goal in the 94th minute lifted the Southeast Missouri soccer team to a much-needed 1-0 victory over Ohio Valley Conference co-leader Eastern Kentucky on Senior Night at Houck Stadium.
Boyko headed in a crossing feed from the left side and put it into the top corner of the net to help the Redhawks (3-9-3, 2-3-1 OVC) snap a three-match losing streak in league play. That goal handed the Colonels (7-5-2, 3-1-1 OVC) their first league loss.
Offense was difficult to come by in the first half of play as the teams combined for only seven shots (4-3 EKU) in the opening 45 minutes. The Colonels had the most dangerous chance in the 14th minute when Nikki Donnelly, EKU's leading scorer, made a run down the right side. With the defense closing in on her, Donnelly launched a shot towards the far post that Renee Kertz made a diving stop on to keep the contest scoreless going into the break.
The Colonels owned an 8-2 advantage in shots during the second half, placing five on goal that Kertz stopped. The majority of the chances came from 20 yards or more away. Neither of the Redhawks' shots were directed on goal in the second half, but Kertz' effort sent them to overtime for the second-consecutive match.
Southeast wasted little time going on the attack in the extra session. After an EKU run was thwarted, Kertz launched the ball to midfield, where Paige Luehmann directed a through ball to Kasey Crowden down the left sideline. Crowden played a perfect high ball that went cleanly off Boyko's head and curved into the net for the winning tally.
Eastern Kentucky outshot Southeast 12-6 and took the only corner kick of the match. Kertz made seven saves for her third-career shutout while Erika Wolfer stopped one Southeast shot.
BELMONT 2, JACKSONVILLE STATE 1
JACKSONVILLE, Ala. - Belmont scored the equalizing goal with 53 second left in the match and went on to claim a 2-1 overtime win over Jacksonville State on Friday evening at the JSU Soccer Field.
The loss drops JSU to 10-4-2 on the season and 3-2-1 in the Ohio Valley Conference. The Bruins of Belmont pushed their season's mark to 6-6-1 and 2-2-1 against OVC competition.
Taylor Smith headed the match-tying goal in the 90th minute after trailing from the 53rd minute on. Smith finished the scoring opportunity after a cross from Allie Hicks. She finished the night with three shots, including two on goal chances. As a team, BU turned in 25 shots with 15 on goal opportunities.
BU carried the momentum it gained in the waning seconds of the contest into the overtime session as they had five shots, including the golden goal by Kim Elmore. Elmore, after posting a match-high seven shots, eventually connected on her final attempt in the 103rd minute to seize the contest from the Gamecocks. Amy Jo Anderson was credited with the assist.
After a scoreless first 45 minutes, the Gamecocks broke the deadlock as Kelsey Bright carded her sixth goal of the year. The freshman from Kingwood, Texas, took a great feed from sophomore Courtney Hurt to send the ball into the back of the net.
JSU turned in 16 total shots and used balance with eight shots in each half. Jax State was held without a shot in the extra time. The Gamecocks had 11 on goal chances, but could not add an insurance goal late in the contest.
SIUE 1, MURRAY STATE 0
EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - Freshman Cassidy Sherman headed home the game-winning goal Friday night, giving SIUE women's soccer a 1-0 victory over Murray State at Korte Stadium. It is the third consecutive 1-0 victory for the Cougars and their seventh shutout of the season.
Sherman's goal came in the 35th minute off a restart by Kourtney Price. Price served a high curling ball from 40 yards out near the right sideline. Sherman made a perfect run to connect with the winning strike.
SIUE controlled possession for the majority of the night. The Cougars finished with an 18-8 advantage in shots.
UT MARTIN 2, MOREHEAD STATE 0
