Getting to know head coach Rob Cross
Get to know Murray State's Mariah
Robinson
Mariah is a
junior guard from Beaver Dam, Ky. She ranks in the OVC top 10 in scoring. We
asked Mariah a few questions and below are her answers.
How did you choose your school?
"I talked
it over with my dad and realized that MSU was the best choice for me. It was close enough for my family and friends
to attend, but far enough to where my dad couldn't check up on me "All of the
time"
Who is your role model and why?
"I wouldn't
consider this person to be my idol, but I really admire my mother. She passed away when I was 12, due to
cancer. She fought this disease for 5
years. I rarely heard her complain, if
any. She was a very strong, faithful and
independent woman."
What did you want to be when you were
little?
"A
basketball player. I didn't realize that
until my elementary teacher brought a class scrapbook to a basketball camp at
my high school this past summer. Under
my photo I wrote "I want to be a basketball player when I get older."
If you could have dinner with any
three people, who would the by and why?
"Jesus, my
mother, and President Obama...all of them are very important/have an impact on my
life every day. "
What professor do you enjoy the
most? What class it is and why?
"Alison
Epperson - Teaching Substance Abuse.
Professor Epperson is always understanding of schedule changes and
always looks out for her student's best interests. Plus the class discussions get pretty
interesting. "
What is one thing people would be
surprised to find out about you?
"My
teammate Candace Nevels says she was surprised to know that I was somewhat of a
lyric genius."
What is your favorite OVC campus to
play at (besides your own) and why?
"Austin
Peay - The atmosphere is always at its peak when we player there."
