Jacksonville State won its sixth Ohio Valley Conference Rifle Championship on Sunday. The Gameocks won the smallbore title on Saturday with a mark of 2303 and took the air rifle crown on Sunday, shooting a 2328.
Last year’s rifle champ Murray State came in second with an aggregate of 4589. UT Martin’s mixed team finished third with a score of 4556, followed by Morehead State (4543) and the UT Martin women’s squad (4484).
Jacksonville State’s Sam Muegge earned the OVC Smallbore Athlete of the Year award after taking the individual crown yesterday. The Gamecocks’ Andrea Dardes earned the individual air rifle title and was named the OVC Air Rifle Athlete of the Year.
The OVC Freshman of the Year award was share by UT Martin’s Joe Barefoot, Jacksonville State’s Daniel McCall, Morehead State’s Ethan Cole and Murray State’s Kelsey Emme.
Coach of the Year honors went to Jacksonville State’s Ron Frost.
