MALE TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Mads Taersboel, Fr., Slagelse, Denmark – Eastern Kentucky University
Taersboel exploded onto the scene on Saturday at the Rod McCravy Memorial Meet in Lexington, Kentucky, running a 4:05.31 mile in his first-ever race in the event. He finished 2nd out of 44 competitors, edging All-American and EKU indoor mile record holder Soufiane Bouchiki by just over a second. The time is a new OVC best and is currently 37th in the nation.

FEMALE TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Shamira Barrett, Jr., Adairsville, Ga. – Jacksonville State University
Barrett wrapped up a stellar weekend at the Indiana Relays by claiming 1st in the 400m with a time of 56.14 on Saturday after breaking the school record (24.44) in the 200m on Friday while finishing 2nd.

MALE FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Craig Robinson, Sr., Hayti, Mo. – Southeast Missouri State University
Robinson competed in the Indiana Relays over the weekend and took home 1st place in a field of 21 competitors in the shot put with a distance of 56’1.75”.
Mick Viken, Jr., Rolling Meadows, Ill. – Eastern Illinois University
Viken matched his career best height in the pole vault competing in the invitational section of the Indiana Relays. He cleared a height of 17’8.50” for the second straight week while finishing 2nd in the competition.

FEMALE FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Courtney Gapelu, Jr., Independence, Mo. – Southeast Missouri State University
At the Indiana Relays Gapelu threw a 49’4.50” mark while placing 4th in the shot put, a new career-best. The mark is also the best mark in indoor competition in the OVC since 2009-2010. She also took home 1st in the weight throw with a distance of 55’0” over the weekend.
Jade Riebold, Jr., Powell, Oh. – Eastern Illinois University
Riebold won the women’s pole vault invitational at the Indiana Relays on Saturday posting her best height of the season. She cleared 13’9.25” to win the event.
