MOREHEAD, Ky. - Sixth-seeded Eastern Kentucky upset No. 3 Eastern Illinois in five sets (25-18, 23-25, 25-22, 24-26, 15-8) to advance to the semifinals of the 2013 OVC Volleyball Championship. The Colonels will face the winner of the Belmont/SIUE match.
Three colonels reached double-figures in kills with Ashley Edmond leading the way with 19. Edmond also was also second on the team with 24 digs and added four service aces. Alexis Plagens registered 15 kills and seven service aces. Rachel Vick chipped in 14 kills. Abbey Cvelbar recorded a team-high 51 assists while Dena Ott led all players with 35 digs.
The Colonels recorded 17 total service aces in the match.
Reynae Hutchinson led the Panthers with 21 kills and 12 digs. Marah Bradbury also recorded a double-double with a match-high 64 assists to go with 11 digs. Stephanie Wallace posted a team-best 30 digs in the match.
The Panthers finish the season with a 18-12 overall mark while going 12-4 in the OVC.
#7 SIUE 3, #2 Belmont 1
MOREHEAD, Ky. - Seventh-seeded SIUE defeated No. 2 Belmont in four sets (25-16, 25-20, 19-25, 25-21) to advance to the semifinals of the 2013 OVC Volleyball Championship. The Cougars will play No. 6 Eastern Kentucky in the first semifinal on Friday.
Kelsey Augustine led the Cougars with 14 kills while hitting .481 for the match. Kristen Torre added 12 kills to go with a pair of service aces. Mallory Mangun just missed a double-double with 42 assists and eight digs. Chelsea Colclasure paced the team with 14 digs while Kasey Schumacher added 11 digs.
Alex Martin paced the Bruins with 15 kills while Allison McCoy had 10 kills and a .438 hitting percentage. Hannah Miranda dished out 42 assists while Jen Myer led the team with 15 digs.
The Bruins finished the season with a 19-14 overall mark while going 12-4 in the OVC.
#5 AUSTIN PEAY 3, #4 SOUTHEAST MISSOURI 1
MOREHEAD, Ky. - Fifth-seeded Austin Peay defeated No. 4 Southeast Missouri in four sets (25-23, 19-25, 25-15, 25-23) to advance to the semifinals of the 2013 OVC Volleyball Championships. The Lady Govs will play the winner of the Morehead State/Tennessee State match.
The Lady Govs were led by Jada Stotts with match highs of 21 kills and 16 digs. Aubrey Marsellis added 12 kills while dishing out a team-best 30 assists. Cami Fields also posted a double-double with 11 digs and 21 assists.
Colleen Yarber led the Redhawks with 20 kills while Berkley Idel paced the defense with 15 digs. Julie Shives dished out 37 assists to go with 10 digs
Southeast Missouri concluded its season with a 17-16 overall record and a 9-7 OVC mark.

MOREHEAD, Ky. - Top-seeded Morehead State defeated No. 8 Tennessee State to advance to the semifinals of the 2013 OVC Volleyball Championship. The Eagles will face No. 5 Austin Peay.
Courtney Smith led the Eagles with 11 kills while Bailey Nichol dished out a match-high 32 assists. Leslie Schellhaas paced the defense with 26 digs while Aryn Bohannon chipped in 19 and Lindsey Roth had 11.
Arijiana Anderson recorded a match-best 12 kills to lead the Tigers. Erika Moss recorded a double-double with 22 assists and 14 digs. Ileanushka Maldanado tallied 17 digs.
Tennessee State finished the season with a 10-18 overall mark while going 6-10 in the OVC.
