#17 INDIANA 5, EASTERN KENTUCKY 2
BLOOMINGTON, Ind.
- Eastern Kentucky fell 5-2 at No. 17 Indiana on Tuesday.  The Hoosiers scored one run in five different innings.

After falling behind 2-0, the Colonels tied the score in the third inning.  Shaun Ball’s ground ball with one out and the bases loaded platted the first run.  Austin Grisham stole home to make it a 2-2 game.

Indiana took the lead back in the fourth on an RBI single to right center by Justin Cureton.

Grisham had two hits in four at bats and scored once.  John Wilson went 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Cureton finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs.  Kyle Schwarber went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI for IU.

Matt Lynch (0-4) started for Eastern and allowed four runs, three of which were earned, on seven hits in six innings.  He walked three and struck out two.  Christian Morris started for Indiana and allowed two runs in two and two-thirds innings.  Luke Harrison (3-1) pitched five and one-third innings of scoreless relief.

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS 3, SOUTHEAST MISSOURI 2 (11)
CARBONDALE, Ill.
- The Southeast Missouri baseball team fell to Southern Illinois 3-2 in 11 innings Tuesday on a windy afternoon in Carbondale, Ill. The Redhawks tied the game in the top of the ninth inning scoring on a wild pitch as the Salukis picked up the win in the same fashion in the bottom of the 11th frame.
 
The Redhawks fall to 20-22 on the season as the Salukis move to 19-21 on the year. SIU outhit the Redhawks 12-8 in the contest as they also left 16 runners on-base.
 
The Salukis left 10 runners on-base in the first five innings of the contest as they failed to get on the board first as starter Brad Drust held the Redhawks hitless through 4.2 innings to open the game.
 
Durst ran into trouble in the top of the sixth innings after a one out walk of Jason Blum and a bunt single by Derek Gibson. Matt Tellor followed Gibson with an RBI double down the left field line scoring Blum to give Southeast a 1-0 lead.
 
Southern Illinois took the lead in the seventh as Ryan Casillas drove in a pair of runs on an RBI single to right field to give the Salukis a 2-1 lead.
 
The Redhawks tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the ninth inning. Andy Lennington got the rally started with a single and reached second base on an error by the Saluki shortstop. Southeast tied the game later in the frame on a wild pitch to make it 2-2.
 
Bobby Hurst threw a perfect ninth inning to send the game into extra innings for the second straight non-conference game for the Redhawks.
 
Neither team could muster any offense in extra innings until the Salukis capitalized on a leadoff walk in the top of the 11th inning as the runner later scored on a wild pitch to help the Saluki earn the season sweep of the Redhawks.
 
Junior Skylar Cobb (1-2) was tagged with the loss for the Redhawks as he was one of six pitchers used on the day. Starter Alex Winkelman threw four scoreless innings for the Redhawks.
 
The Saluki bullpen did not allow allowed an earned run in 5.2 innings of relief as Aaron Snyder (3-4) earned the win  for SIU.
 
The Redhawks were led offensively by Nolan Fisher and Lennington as they each added a pair of hits in the contest. Blum extended his hitting streak to 15-games with a single in the 10th inning.
 
SIU was led by Jake Welch as he added a game-high three hits and a run scored.

OHIO 9, MOREHEAD STATE 1
ATHENS, Ohio
- Despite allowing only two more hits than Ohio, the Morehead State baseball team was outscored, 9-1, on Tuesday afternoon at Bob Wren Stadium.

The loss snapped a four-game win streak for the Eagles, who fall to 13-29 on the season. With the win, Ohio moves to 10-28.

The Eagles finished the game with eight hits to the Bobcats’ ten, and only two of those hits came before the sixth inning.

MSU’s sole run came in the top of the seventh, when sophomore right fielder Brandon Rawe crushed a solo home run over the left field wall, his third of the season.

Ohio jumped out to a 6-0 lead, driving in one in the bottom of the second before a five-run third inning that was highlighted by a home run to left center from senior shortstop Dan Schmidt. The Bobcats added one in the fifth and two in the sixth to close out the victory.

Senior shortstop Chase Greenwell and senior first baseman Bobby Lewis were the only Eagles to register multiple hit efforts, each going 2-for-4 with a single and a double in the contest.

With a single up the middle in the eighth, sophomore third baseman Kane Sweeney extended his reached base streak to 33 straight games.

In the first start of his MSU career, freshman right-hander Craig Pearcy was charged with the loss, allowing six runs on four hits in 2.2 innings. Ohio junior lefty Sean Kennedy (2-0) picked up the win, allowing only three hits and one run in 5.1 innings of relief.

BELMONT 5, LIPSCOMB 4 (11)
NASHVILLE
- Alec Diamond's (Kennesaw, Ga.) game winning hit in the bottom of the eleventh, pushed Belmont Baseball (28-11, 14-4) past crosstown rival Lipscomb, 5-4 Tuesday at Rose Park.

Lipscomb loaded the bases in the first but only scored one after starter Jordan Deal (Brownsburg, Ind.) pitched out of the jam.

A walk and a pair of singles loaded the bases for the Bruins in the bottom of the third. A sacrifice fly from Judah Akers (Cookeville, Tenn.) scored Jamie Ritchie (Buford, Ga.). A two-run single through the left side from Jared Breen (Marietta, Ga.) put Belmont ahead 3-1.

Lipscomb's Drew Adams hit a solo home run over the left field fence to cut Belmont's lead, 3-2 in the top of the fifth.

The Bisons tied the game, 3-3, in the top of the eighth with another solo homer from Tyson Ashcraft.
Ashcraft hit his second home run of the game in the top of the tenth to put the Bisons ahead, 4-3.

Dom Veltri (Clarksville, Tenn.) responded with a leadoff single up the middle and advanced to second on an error. Diamond laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt to move Veltri over to third. Veltri scored and tied the game at 4-4 on a passed ball.

The Bruins loaded the bases in the bottom half of the inning, but the runners were left stranded.

A single from Diamond scored Scott Moses (Englewood, Tenn.) in the bottom of the eleventh to push the Bruins past Lipscomb 5-4.

This was the fifth time this season, the Bruins have played an extra innings game.

Moses earned the win for his third win of the season after going four innings on the mound and striking out two.

SOUTH ALABAMA 9, JACKSONVILLE STATE 6
MOBILE, Ala. - Jeff DeBlieux and Hayden Jones each had four hits to lead South Alabama to a 9-6 come-from-behind win over Jacksonville State at Stanky Field on Tuesday evening.
 
Jamie Dennis (1-0) allowed just two hits in 3 1/3 innings of relief to earn his first win of the season the win, while Kyle Bartsch had a pair of strikeouts in the ninth inning to pick up his 11th save for the Jaguars. Michael Mason (1-2) gave up five runs in just 2/3 inning to suffer the loss for the Gamecocks.
 
South Alabama (30-12) took the early lead after scoring a run in the first inning on a RBI single by Nick Zaharion, and the Jaguars  added another run in the second inning after Jordan Patterson drove in a run to give USA a 2-0 lead.
 
The Gamecocks (22-18) took the lead in the third inning after Stephen Bartlett led off with a walk and Michael Bishop followed with a one-out home run to left field to tie the game at 2-2. Adam Miller then followed with a single, before Griff Gordon hit his first home run of the season to give Jax State a 4-2 lead.
 
JSU would add another run in the fourth inning after Chase Silvani led off with a single through the right side and later scored on Gavin Golsan's infield grounder to give the Gamecocks a 5-2 lead.
 
Jax State extended the lead with a run in the fifth inning after Andrew Bishop drove in a run to extend the lead to 6-2, before South Alabama would add a run in the sixth inning when Zaharion drove in his second run of the night to cut the lead to 6-3.
 
The Jaguars took the lead for good in the seventh inning after scoring five runs as Dustin Dalken and Nolan Early each drove in a pair of runs and Zaharion added his third RBI of the night as USA built an 8-6 lead.
 
South Alabama added an insurance run in the eighth inning when Jones scored on a Gamecock error for the final margin.
 
Gordon, Blanchard and Adam Miller each had two hits to lead the Gamecocks, while Gordon and Michael Bishop each drove in two runs.

TENNESSEE TECH 12, ALABAMA A&M 5
COOKEVILLE, Tenn.
- Every starter collected a hit and Andy Williams (1-0) picked up his first win of the season as the Tennessee Tech baseball team (29-12, 16-5) used consistent scoring to defeat Alabama A&M (3-36, 1-13), 12-5, Tuesday evening.
 
The Golden Eagles scored in each of the first five innings, never giving the Bulldog pitchers a break or the Alabama A&M offense a chance to catch up. Starter Garrett Baugh gave Tech plenty of space to build a lead, not allowing a hit until the third inning while striking out five of the first six batters he faced.
 
The Tech bats put up one run in the first, two in the second, two in the third, three in the fourth, three in the fifth, and one more for good measure in the seventh. Zach Stephens and Evan Frazier led the Golden Eagles with three RBI apiece. Stephens gathered one of Tech's four sacrifice flies on the day, driving in the first run of the game. He later ripped a double down the left field line, driving in two more runs.
 
Frazier collected all three RBI in one shot, pumping a three-run home run over the left field fence with two outs in the bottom of the fifth. His dinger provided the knock-out punch for the Golden Eagles, doubling its three-run lead to make the score 11-5.
 
Williams collected his first win of the season, striking out six batters in two innings of relief. The six strikeouts were just one away from the junior's career-high and put a stop to three consecutive innings of scoring for the Bulldogs.
 
Senior Austin Wulf went 3-for-3 in the contest, driving in two runs with two sac flies. Zach Zarzour crossed home plate three times, scoring each time he reached base. Dylan Bosheers collected three hits, scoring a run and driving in a run as well. Senior outfielders Michael Morris and James Abraham each went 2-for-3 while scoring two runs apiece.
 
Leading the Bulldogs was designated hitter Jordan Benford, who hit a two-run shot in the fifth inning to bring Alabama A&M within three runs one last time. Patrick Dodson also recorded two RBI in the contest, leading the Bulldogs with three hits in five at-bats. Allen Belue (0-7) was tabbed with his seventh loss of the season, giving up five runs (three earned) in three innings.
 
With the win, Tech recorded its 29th win of the season, putting them just one victory away from becoming the seventh Golden Eagle squad to post a 30-win season. It would also mark head coach Matt Bragga's fourth 30-win team in his 10 years of coaching.
