MARSHALL 4, MOREHEAD STATE 1
BECKLEY, W.Va.
- The Morehead State baseball team out-hit Marshall eight to seven on Tuesday afternoon, but only manufactured one run, falling 4-1 at Epling Stadium.

With the loss, the Eagles fall to 15-31, while the Thundering Herd improve to 17-26.

Six of the Eagles’ eight hits came from sophomore first baseman Kane Sweeney (3-for-3 with a walk), who extended his reached base streak to 37 straight games, and sophomore right-fielder Brandon Rawe (3-for-4).

The Thundering Herd did most of its damage in the bottom of the third, plating three runs on three hits. They pushed their lead to 4-0 in the fifth on a solo home run from right fielder Gray Stafford.

Morehead State got on the board in the seventh when freshman pinch hitter Taylor Sears drove in senior pinch hitter Bobby Lewis with a single to right field.

Eagle freshman right-hander Tyler Keele (3-6) took the loss, allowing six hits and four runs in 4.2 innings. Marshall righty Chase Boster picked up his third win of the season, allowing six hits but no runs in six innings.

ARKANSAS-PINE BLUFF 8, ARKANSAS-PINE BLUFF 7
PINE BLUFF, Ark.
- The Murray State baseball team suffered yet another ninth-inning heartbreaker Tuesday afternoon as Arkansas-Pine Bluff scored three runs to walk off with an 8-7 victory in the first game of a two-game series at the Tori Hunter Baseball Complex.  

Trailing by two heading into the bottom of the ninth, the Golden Lions loaded the bases with no outs.  A balk was called on the next batter, but the ball got away from the catcher and allowed a second runner to score from second.  An intentional walk and a base hit loaded the bases, and Jacob Whitney drew a walk to plate the winning run.

The Breds (17-27) got off to a quick start in the first inning as Ty Stetson singled and Brandon Elliott doubled.  Brandon Eggenschwiler drove in both runners with a bloop single down the left-field line.

The Golden Lions (18-26) answered back in the home-half of the first with four base hits.  Warren Stehn and Kirby Campbell each drove in a run with their singles.

MSU regained the lead in the fourth as Noah Zipko and Rick Linton singled to start the inning.  Taylor Mathews advanced both runners with a sacrifice bunt and Paul Ritzheimer walked to load the bases.  Stetson followed by delivering a double just inside the bag at first to plate all three runners.

UAPB (18-26) got single runs in the 4th and 5th innings to pull within one run at 5-4.  But, the Breds had another big hit in them as Zipko singled and Linton was hit by a pitch.  Mathews followed with a triple into the right-field corner to score both runners.

The Golden Lions got one of the runs back in the seventh as a throwing error on a stolen base allowed the unearned run to score.

Andrew Bramley (1-3) took the loss after allowing three runs without retiring a batter.  Stanten Jones (5-5) picked up the victory after allowing one hit and striking out five over 2.1 innings.

Stetson went 2-for-4 with three RBIs in extending his hit streak to 18 games.  Eggenschwiler went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBIs, while Linton went 3-for-3 with a walk and a hit by pitch.  Elliott and Zipko each added two hits.

SOUTHEAST MISSOURI 9, MISSOURI 7
COLUMBIA, Mo.
- Junior Matt Tellor's ninth inning home run on the first pitch of the inning proved to be the game winner as the Redhawks defeated Missouri 9-7 in the team's first meeting since the 2006 season. Southeast out slugged their Southeastern Conference counterpart as the Redhawks recorded 15 hits with six extra base hits on the night.

The Redhawks move to 21-25 overall and win their fourth out of the last six against the Tigers dating back to 2005. Mizzou drops to 15-25 on the season with the loss as they have dropped three of their last four games against the Redhawks by allowing a home run in the final inning.

Derek Gibson and Clayton Evans led the Redhawks as they each added a trio of hits. Evans added three RBI on the day as well. Jason Blum, Nolan Fisher and Ryan Barnes also added a pair of hits on the night.

Senior Bobby Hurst (3-2) got the win throwing the final 1.2 innings allowing one hit with one walk and a strikeout. Starter Tony Zerrusen and Skylar Cobb moved to ninth in single season appearances as they both recorded their 23rd of the season.

The Redhawks opened the scoring on a Gibson inside the park home run as Mizzou left fielder Case Munson dove for the ball and missed the ball as it rolled all the way to the left field fence to give the Redhawks' the 2-0 lead. It was the first inside the park home run since Casey Jones did it on March 13, 2010 against North Dakota.

The Tigers got on the board in the second inning to cut the Redhawks lead to 2-1 on an RBI single to left field by Shane Segovia.

The Redhawks took a 3-1 lead in the top of the fourth inning as  Evans drove in Barnes on an RBI double to left centerfield.

Mizzou tied the game in the fourth inning with a pair of runs. The Tigers scored on a double play and an infield single as the ball did not leave the infield in the frame.

The Tigers took their first lead in the fifth inning on a solo home run to left centerfield by Dillon Everett, it was his first career home run. Mizzou added to the lead with a bases loaded hit-by-pitch to take a 5-3 lead after five innings.

The Redhawks answered back with three runs in the top of the sixth as Evans drove in a run on a single followed by a two-run double to left centerfield by Blum to make it 6-5 Southeast.

Southeast added a run in the seventh inning as Fisher drove in Tellor as he reached on an error to open the frame to give the Redhawks a 7-5 lead.

Mizzou tied the game at 7-7 in the bottom of the eighth inning on a two-run single to left field by Dane Opel.

Southeast wasted little time to retake the lead as Tellor hit a home run to right centerfield on the first pitch of the ninth inning to give the Redhawks an 8-7 lead. Evans added a two-out RBI single to centerfield to give the Redhawks a 9-7 lead.

Hurst shut the door on the Tigers in the ninth to secure the 9-7 win for the Redhawks.

Breckin Williams (0-3) was tagged with the loss allowing two runs in 1.2 innings of work.

Segovia led the Tigers going 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBI and a run socred.
