The split puts the Eagles at 24-20 overall and 10-12 in league action, while Tech sits at 22-26 overall and 11-11 in conference play.

The Golden Eagles took another early lead in game two when they plated four runs off two hits in the first inning. Cortney Fry singled in the inning to account for two of the TTU runs. MSU plated a single run in the bottom of the inning off senior Kayla Ashbrook’s eighth home run of the season. However, Tech scored a run in the third via a double from senior Brittney Spalding to push the lead back to 5-1.

TTU scored its final run of the contest on a solo shot from Brittney Spalding, her fourth home run of the season.

Ashbrook drove in a run on a sacrifice fly to left in the seventh, but the Eagles did not complete the comeback.

Junior pitcher Kelcey McMurray (5-8) suffered the loss in 2.1 innings of work. She was tagged with two earned runs off four hits. In 4.2 innings of relief, Pfost was credited with one earned run off three hits, and struck out five. Sophomore Taylor Ketchum picked up the victory to improve to 15-10.
