EDWARDSVILLE, Ill.
- Evansville scored in every inning but two Wednesday night, blanking SIUE 16-0 in the final nonconference baseball game of the season.

The Purple Aces (22-32) scored 16 runs on 15 hits against five Cougar pitchers to spoil the final home game of the year for the Cougars. The Cougars fell to 16-32. SIUE finished 10-11 at home.

Evansville's Kyle Pollock led the offensive attack. Pollock was 3 for 4 with two home runs and six RBIs. Shin Showers was 3 for 5 with a home run and three RBIs. Jonathan Ramon was 1 for 3 with a solo home run.

SIUE starter Dylan Brown (0-1) suffered the loss for the Cougars. Brown gave up three runs over 2 1/3 innings. He walked four and struck out one. Drew Staples surrendered 10 runs in 4 1/3 innings of relief.

P.J. Schuster allowed a run in 1 1/3 innings and Brooks McDowell gave up two runs in 1/3 of an inning. Sam Hopkins finished the game retiring the final two Evansville hitters.

At the plate, the Cougars managed just two hits against a trio of Evansville hurlers. Skyler Geissinger led off the third inning with a single, while Travis Becherer lined a single through the right side in the bottom of the ninth inning. In between hits, UE pitchers retired 22 consecutive SIUE hitters.

Josh Biggs (2-2) started and earned the win. He allowed one hit over six innings and struck out seven. He retired the final 14 hitters he faced. Tyler Miller tossed a scoreless seventh inning, and Connor Strain pitched the final two innings, allowing a hit and striking out one.
