Presbyterian used 13 extra base hits to sweep the Morehead State softball team a non-conference doubleheader on Thursday at the PC Softball Complex.

The Blue Hose hit three home runs in a 5-2 game-one victory, before pounding out six doubles in a 10-1 victory in five innings to complete the sweep.

The Eagles fell to 2-10, while Presbyterian improved to 3-6.

Junior third baseman Katie Raile (2-for-5) was the only MSU player with multiple hits. Senior second baseman Stephanie Etter hit her second home run of the season, and sophomore outfielder Tressa Watson had a double in each game. Senior designated player Jamie Massaro had her first home run of the season in game two, which was one of just a pair of MSU hits in the second contest.

Sydney Siegler struck out four in the circle to collect the victory in game one. Katie Brown tossed four innings and was credited with the win in the nightcap. Hope Rogers was 5-for-6 with a home run and two doubles to lead the Blue Hose offense.

Freshman pitcher Megan Tymorek (2-5) allowed four runs, on eight hits, with two strikeouts in 3.1 innings in the opener. Senior Kelcey McMurray allowed one unearned run in 2.2 innings of relief.

Junior Tanna Seuferer (0-4) surrendered four runs in one inning in game two. McMurray and Tymorek allowed six combined runs in relief.

MSU is scheduled to return to action on Saturday for a three game non-conference series at East Tennessee State. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.

LIPSCOMB 13, BELMONT 0
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -
The Belmont University softball team fell to Lipscomb Thursday afternoon, 13-0, in six innings of play.

Lipscomb (13-2) used a dominant pitching performance from right-hander Tanner Sanders and senior catcher Rena' Cothran went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI as the Bisons shutout the Bruins Thursday afternoon at Rose Park.

Sanders (5-1) stalled the Bruins' offense as Belmont only mustered a pair of runs on the contest.

Belmont (5-7) will be back in action Thursday, Mar. 6, as the Bruins begin their California road swing with a stop in Riverside, Calif. for a douleheader with UC Riverside starting at 2 p.m. CT.
