MURRAY, Ky. - Sixth-seeded Southeast Missouri upset No. 2 Tennesee Tech, 2-0, to advance to the semfinals of the 2015 OVC Soccer Championship. The Redhawks will face the winner of the Murray State/Morehead State match in the finals on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT.
Jennifer Antonacci got the Redhawks on the board as she scored her third goal eight minutes into the match. Natasha Minior added the insurance scored in the 82nd minute. It was her fourth goal of the year. Minor finished the match with a team-high four shots.
Abi Gearing led Tennessee Tech with two shots.
Southeast Missouri goalkeeper Kindra Lierz earned the shutout as she made four stops in the victory.
Tennessee Tech's Kari Naerdemann finished with three saves in the match.
MURRAY STATE 2, MOREHEAD STATE 1
MURRAY, Ky. - Harriet Withers scored a pair of goals to lead top-seeded Murray State past No. 5 Morehead State in the OVC Championship semifinals. The Racers will play No. 6 Southeast Missouri in the finals of the OVC Championship on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT.
Neither team could find the back of the net in the first half. Withers got the Racers on the board as she netted her goal of the match in the 56th minute.
Morehead State tied the game in the 77th minute as Samantha Damante scored her second goal of the season.
With 31 seconds remaining in the game, Withers scored her second goal of match to give the Racers the win. She now has 11 career goals this year.
