NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Third-seeded Morehead State defeated No. 6 UT Martin, 4-1, to advance to the semifinals of the 2015 OVC Tennis Championship. The Eagles will face No. 2 Eastern Kentucky on Saturday.
Morehead State earned the doubles points with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 spot. The Eagles' Dominique McLean and Ayaka Terashi defeated UT Martin's Sarah Candeloro and Elina Guet (8-6) at No. 2 while Aleksandra Savic and Alex Toachovsky won at No. 3 spot over Jessica Silva and Tamara Klimek (8-4).
The Eagles Aleksandra Savic defeated UTM's Florence Nicole (6-2, 6-1) at the No. 6 spot to give Morehead State the 2-0 lead in the match. Morehead State would get another points at No. 4 singleas as Alex Tachovsky defeated Elina Guet (6-1, 6-1).
UT Martin's Sarah Candeloro defeated Ayaka Terashi (6-3, 6-1) to give the Skyhawks a point.
Andrea LeBlance earned the win over Hitomi Naito (6-3, 6-2) at the No. 1 spot to clinch the match for the Eagles.
EASTERN ILLINOIS 4, SIUE 3
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Fifth-seeded Eastern Illinois upset No. 4 SIUE to advance the semifinals of the 2015 OVC Tennis Championship. The Panthers will face No. 1 Murrray State on Saturday.
Eastern Illinois took the doubles points off wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots. EIU's Grace Summers and Sephore Boulbahaim defeated SIUE's Mia Frogner and Kali Donner (8-4) at No. 1 while Kelly Iden and Kamiel Stadalninkaite beat Haley Ilcewica and Monique Krutak (8-3).
EIU's Hannah Kimbrough defeated Sierra Halverson (6-2, 6-2) at the No. 5 spot to put the Panthers up 2-0 in the match. SIUE's Kali Donner won over Sephora Boulbhaiem (6-1, 7-5) to give the Cougars a point.
The Panthers Grace Summer earned the the point at No. 3 as she defeated SIUE's Monique Krutak (6-2, 6-2). The Cougars' even the match as Lexi Aranda defeated Kelly Iden (6-1, 6-4) at No. 1 and Haley Ilcewicz defeated Marie Moshteva (6-2, 6-3) at No. 6.
Ali Foster would clinch the match for Eastern Illinois as she defeated Mia Frogner, 6-2, 7-5.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Third-seeded Austin Peay defeated No. 6 Morehead State, 4-0, to advance to the 2015 OVC Men's Tennis Championship semfinals. The Govs will face No. 2 Tennessee Tech on Saturday.
Austin Peay took the doubles point, picking up wins at No. 1 and no. 3. Austin Peay's Dimitar Ristovski and Iago Seffrin defeated Ritchie Kruunenberg and Gabriel Ruiz while Manuel Montenegro at No. 1 while. Aleh Drobysh beat Garrett Mandrell and Enrique Samudio at No. 3
APSU's Aleksas Tverijonas defeated Morehead State's Sabastian Penaloza (6-3, 6-1) at No. 1 while Aaron Jumonville beat Gabriel Ruiz (6-3, 6-3) at No. 2 singles. Aleh Drobysh beat Enrique Samudio (6-3, 6-2) to clinch the match.
JACKSONVILLE STATE 5, BELMONT 2
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - In a rematch of last season's Ohio Valley Conference Tournament Championship match, Jacksonville State advanced to the 2015 OVC Men's Tennis Championship semifinals after taking down Belmont, 4-2, on Thursday at Centennial Sportsplex Tennis Center.
The Gamecocks will take on top-seeded Eastern Kentucky in one of the two semifinal contests on Saturday.
JSU, who moved to 11-11 overall, got off to a great start in the match with the key doubles point. Senior Felipe Diaz was paired with Jaryd Reese at No. 2 doubles to down the Bruins' duo of Cedric Dujacquier and Caio Niel, 8-3. After BU evened things with a win at No. 1, Sophomore Dylan Gee teamed up with Mathias Chaim at No. 3 doubles. The Jax State tandem clinched the point after edging BU's pairing of Robin Demasse and Bruno Russo, 8-7.
The momentum from winning the doubles point continued for JSU as it took a 3-0 lead with wins at No. 5 and No. 1. Reese quick-worked Demasse at No. 5 - 6-2, 6-0 for the second point. Jefferson Wendler-Filho ousted Mauricio Antum, 6-2, 6-4.
The Bruins tightened things with two wins at No. 2 and 6. The match would come down to the No. 4 spot as Pedro Wagner extended Demasse to three sets. After Wagner dropped the opening set, 7-5, he bounced back to win the next two sets to clinch the fourth-and-final point. Wagner won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.
