Municipal Auditorium a Big Venue for Nashville Again?

Known to us as the wonderful home of the OVC Basketball Tournament every year, Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium was once the main venue for famous music acts coming to Music City, USA. Once the Bridgestone Arena (capacity 17,000) was built, larger acts overlooked Municipal AuditoriumOVCTourney_sr (capacity 7,000) and smaller acts consistently turned to the historic Ryman Auditorium (capacity 7,000). But according to The Tennessean, it could be time to change that pattern. With the growth of Nashville and its music scene, it’s possible that there’s a place for an indoor arena of Municipal’s size. The OVC has enjoyed a great relationship with Municipal Auditorium for years, and we’d be more than happy to share it with some musical talent! From Michael Jackson to Kid Rock, Municipal has seen it all. Also, another reason we love the Municipal Auditorium is the tenant right beneath it, the Musicians Hall of Fame, which has generously offered discounts to attendees of the OVC basketball tournament every year.
