Giles began his collegiate career by taking 12th place out of 90 golfers at the GolfWeek Program Challenge held at the True Blue Golf Course in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The freshman carded rounds of 70-71-69 to finish at -6 and help his team to a seventh place finish in a competitive field of 18 teams (including three other OVC schools). Giles finished in a tie with the medalist and runner-up for most birdies during the three round event.

Magnusson began her fall season with a first and fourth place finish in Morehead State's first two events. She opened her senior campaign by taking first place out of 34 competitors at the Bluegrass Kickoff, carding round of 67-69 to finish at -8, which was three shots better than second place (and was one of only three players to finish the event under par. This past week she had record rounds in taking fourth place out of 90 golfers at the GolfWeek Program Challenge held at the Caledonia Golf & Fish Club in Pawley's Island, S.C. She opened that event with a career-best, program-best, tournament-record and course-record round of 64 (-7). Her bogey-free round included seven birdies overall and she closed strong, finishing with birdies at 15, 16, and 17. She finished the event with rounds of 71 and 78 to finish at 213 (even par).
