MOREHEAD, Ky. - Six different Eagles scored in double figures as Morehead State routed St. Catharine (Ky.), 105-66, on Tuesday night at Johnson Arena.
The Eagles improve to 15-11 on the year and 8-5 in the Ohio Valley Conference, as the Patriots fall to 7-20.
"It was a good night for us, everybody got a chance to contribute and I thought we all came ready to play. We were professional, we executed, and it was good to see some of the guys that sometimes don't get to play that much play extremely well," said head coach Sean Woods.
St. Catharine held an 8-7 advantage early in the game, when senior guard Brent Arrington hit a three from the left wing and the Eagles never looked back en route to an easy victory.
Morehead State shot 56 percent from the floor, while scoring a season-high 105 points. They finished with 26 assists on 36 made field goals and tied a season-high with 15 steals.
The Eagles dominated down low throughout the night, outrebounding the Patriots, 44-33. Morehead State entered the game as the fifth best offensive rebounding team in the country and pulled down 13 tonight, leading to 17 second chance points. MSU scored 46 points in the paint to SCC's 20.
The bench played a vital role in the win, outscoring the Patriots' bench, 57-8.
Senior guard Jared Ravenscraft had several career-highs as he finished with 12 points, five assists, four rebounds and four steals. Junior forward Ty'Quan Bitting contributed with a career-high 12 points, shooting 5-of-7 from the field. Senior forward Anthony Elechi netted 10 points and pulled down seven rebounds in only 14 minutes of play.
Freshman guard Malik Maitland accounted for 10 points to go along with seven assists and five steals. Sophomore guard Miguel Dicent accumulated 11 points, while shooting 3-of-5 from beyond the arc, and dished out four assists. Freshman forward Wes Noble added a career-high 10 points, finishing 5-of-6 from the charity stripe.
