MURRAY, Ky.
- Murray State sophomore Miyah Watford scored a golden goal 3:08 into overtime to lift the Murray State Racers to the 2017 Ohio Valley Conference Tournament Championship.

It marks the third overall tournament crown for the Racers (15-1-2) who also won in 2009 and 2015. The Racers will find out its NCAA Tournament opponent on Monday at 3:30 p.m. CT during a selection show which will air on NCAA.com.

The contest was a defensive affair with neither team being able to score in regulation. Eastern Kentucky goalkeeper Anna Hall made several impressive saves to keep the game scoreless and ended regulation with 11 stops.

EKU (11-5-4) made one more impressive save to prevent three-time OVC Offensive Player of the Year Harriet Withers from scoring, but Withers took the ensuring corner kick which led to Watford's goal off the rebound.

It marked Wither's sixth goal of the season; she scored both of Murray State's goals in the OVC Tournament and was named MVP.

It marked the second-straight season EKU lost 1-0 in the OVC Soccer Championship match.
