MALE TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Jonathan Conley, Jr., Smyrna, Tenn. – UT Martin
Conley took first in the 800 meters at the 2017 Rhodes Invitational with a time of 1:54.24. The time ranks first in the OVC. He also set a new school record in the 200-meters with a time of 22.68 which ranks third in the league this year.

FEMALE TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Ann Asipan, Sr., Iten, Kenya – UT Martin
Asipan won the 5,000 meters at the 2017 Rhodes Invitational last week with a time of 16:39.17. The time is first in the OVC this season and also ranks second in the nation.

MALE FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Christian Locke, Sr., New London, Mo. – Southeast Missouri
Locke won the pole vault at the 2017 Rhodes Invitational last week. His distance of 16’08.75” is first in the OVC this season and ranks eighth in the OVC this season.

FEMALE FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Kayla Gutierrez, Sr., Kirkwood, Mo. – Southeast Missouri
Gutierrez had a trio of top three finishes at the 2017 Rhodes Invitational last week. She took first in the shot put with a toss of 44’06.25 which ranks third in the OVC this season. She finished third in the hammer throw (164’08) and discus (150’03) last week. Her hammer throw mark is second in the league while her discus distance is first.
